Easy access to your ground level apartment...park right outside. Sunny and light with wood blind windows. Dine-in kitchen or outside BBQ. Many fine restaurants a few blocks away. Or cozy up with Direct TV. W/D, wifi, luxury linens included. Ideal for a couple, but there is a very comfortable full sized couch, with cozy bedding. Easy for two children to share. No privacy between the bedroom and the living room. More than a hotel room with in-town convenience, for a hotel room price!
This Main Street building is one of the oldest in Carbondale, from the early 1900s. When Jess acquired the building in 1996 it was a mix of residential and commercial and it still is, though radically different. Pop into his architectural office right on Main, in front of this apartment, and he'll show you the before and after. Jess was credited with revitalizing this end of town when we renovated the building, improving property values and opening the door for more commercial. Nina manages the rental property and does all of the interior finishes.
The apartment is in the alley, off Main st...between 2nd and 3rd st. Easy walking distance to all that's happening in town.

Jess and Nina have managed long term rental properties for 20 years. Three years ago, they decided to give short term vacation rentals a go and it's been a huge success! They are an Architect/Artist couple who parent 2 teenagers, teach skiing, manage our DIY mini ranch with horses/dogs/cats and essentially love their Colorado life. They want to share this oasis with their guests and are happy to direct you to great hikes/bike rides or just amazing dining experiences. This is the Roaring Fork Valley...aka the Aspen Valley, and it is rich with all kinds of activities....now a more year round environment. Carbondale is the funky child of Aspen...what Aspen used to be. We all know each other and every First Friday, our downtown Main Street opens its doors into late in the evening and it's the one party of the month that everybody goes to....that doesn't need an invitation!
Come be a part of this environment, if only for a weekend....or explore for a week...or a month. You will not tire. One of our guests, from Australia, says of their month at the Cabin "My wife and I did a lot of road cycling in the area and we wonder if there is a better place in the world for it - not only are there the off-road Rio Grande trail, the Glenwood Canyon, the roads out of Aspen and the Frying Pan Rd, but we also found that there are many miles of enjoyable on-road cycling on the Missouri Heights area itself, right out the front gate of the property. Carbondale is a great little town, shops at El Jebel are very good and a little closer for supplies. We'd recommend this area and this property to anyone and would definitely return if we are so fortunate" We have a ton of other such reviews on another vacation rental site and invite you to seek us out there in order to read them all. Some read as pure poetry, thanks to our inspiring views.
Jess and Nina know all too well, as they've lived here for over 16 years. The views inspired them to revive what once was an old original homestead cabin into a modern home, still with the cabin within, and the once gable-roofed barn into the Modern Cabin you see here. Come visit...you'll want to stay too!
