Rated by the UK Sunday Times as #12 of the "Top 50 Villas in Spain, France and Portugal" in 2010, Le Chabrol is a beautiful, sophisticated yet relaxed 300 year old stone villa, superbly restored and tastefully appointed with luxury accommodation for 6 guests. Situated on the banks of the exquisite Dordogne river, our property has wonderful indoor/outdoor living areas, its own private jetty and river access, a glorious heated salt pool, and is just minutes walk from the lovely village of Tremolat
Le Chabrol is a stunning house in a beautiful location, the heart of the Dordogne, with its own river frontage.
Beautiful bedrooms with sumptuous linens and towels, a superb open plan kitchen/living/dining area with every conceivable device for the most demanding cook, fine cookware and glassware, french oak dining table extending to 12, outdoor living, also with a table for 12, a 10x5 metre heated salt pool, a Weber Genesis BBQ, a vegetable, fruit and herb garden with tomatoes, strawberries, cherries and more.
Then through the field to the river, where there is a small jetty for swimming, a table for picnics and wonderful views of the Tremolat bridges.
Just a 10 minute walk (or 5 minute bicycle ride) takes you to the gorgeous Tremolat with its two boulangeries, several restaurants including the famed Vieux Logis, the only Michelin-starred restaurant for miles.
Situated halfway between Sarlat and Bergerac, and within half an hour's drive through beautful countryside, you will find villages such as Beynac, La Roque Gageac, Domme and Saint Cyprien all with weekly markets, each on a different day.
The entire place is yours - the house, fruit, herbs and vegetables in season there for you to pick, large heated salt pool and a huge garden/field to relax in as far as the river. Even rent canoes, moor them at our jetty and use them as you please.

Hi, I'm Donald (no, not that one)
I am an Australian eye surgeon but above all, a self-confessed francophile.
I first fell in love with the Dordogne area of France when I was working as a young doctor at L'Hopital Americain de Paris many years ago.
The Dordogne drew me back many times and in 2013, I made two trips from Australia in search of the ideal Dordogne property, finally finding and purchasing Le Chabrol in Tremolat on the banks of this most enchanting river.
As well as time in Le Chabrol, my partner Maureen and I travel widely and love good food and wine and finding places to picnic on local produce. Our greatest love is sharing these times with family and friends.
Languages? My french is reasonable and my Italian is fluent.
We have had many wonderful guests at Le Chabrol, many with whom we have kept in contact and many who have returned time and again.
