We offer endurance athletes and outdoor enthusiasts a quiet place to stay in the Endurance Capital of the World. Our downstairs suite is just steps away from the American River Canyon and an easy walk into charming historic downtown Auburn.
Bedroom has a queen-size bed; extra guests can sleep on the couch in the sitting room adjacent to the bedroom, or on the floor on an air mattress.
To outdoor enthusiasts wanting to check out the “Endurance Capital of the World” nestled in the Sierra Foothills…welcome. Our cozy abode is just steps away from miles and miles of trails in the American River Canyon and beyond. Hiking, road & mountain biking, trail running, horseback riding, gold panning, whitewater rafting, river & lake kayaking, camping, fishing…right outside our door in the Auburn State Recreation Area. Not to mention easy access to the Sierra Foothills Wine Country, Historic Nevada City, and Skier’s Paradise at North Lake Tahoe— just an hour away.
Our house sits in a quiet neighborhood bordering the edge of the American River Canyon, home to our many friends: black bear, mountain lions, bobcats, deer and so much more. Your room is one of two bedrooms in a downstairs suite, with a bathroom and TV room separate from the rest of the house. You have your own private entry and use of microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle and snacks, but can enjoy access and use of the rest of the house that includes a full kitchen, living and dining rooms, two fireplaces and a wrap-around deck to enjoy views in all directions.
The neighborhood is also less than a mile walk into historic Auburn, where gold mining got started in the Sierra Foothills. There is something for everyone in town, including great shopping, spas, artist studios, restaurants, Farmer’s market, historic museums and a very active cultural calendar. Sports enthusiasts enjoy the many endurance events hosted in town, including the 100 mile Western States ultramarathon, the 100 mile Tevis Cup horse race, Cool Mountain Bike Race, Auburn Triathlon, American River 50-mile run, Way Too Cool 50K run, Auburn Century Bike Ride, American River Classic, and more.
We love the outdoors ourselves and look forward to pointing you in the right direction to enjoy whatever activity you seek. Come on a full moon and go night hiking with us!
The house is just a stone's throw away from the trails of the Auburn State Recreation Area on a quiet street. Neighbors are great and very friendly.
