Million-dollar panoramic view, priceless sunrises, and three playful seals we named Cecil, Cecile, and Clarence. Apartment is tastefully decorated including original art by a New England artist. Perfect get away off the beaten path. Listen to the sounds of nature with the occasional passing of a lobster boat. The weather was perfect. We didn’t want to leave.

If you're looking for a beautiful place to get away from it all, this is the place. It is attractively decorated, comfortable, and extremely clean. Mary, the host, has very thoughtfully provided overly hand and shower soaps (my husband asked me to order them for home), as well as a kitchen that has everything you need. There are even condiments and other necessary cooking items in the cupboards in case you forgot your own, which is very kind. The views are stunning, and we loved every minute there - it was so peaceful.

This apartment is beautiful and Mary and Rick were wonderful hosts. Highly recommend this place! Secluded. Quiet. Gorgeous view and property and lots of nature. We saw at least 30 seals!

Mary's place was perfect for our little get away. My wife and I took a 5 day trip up to Maine from Philadelphia. We didn't have much of a plan and wanted to rest and Mary's place ended up being exactly what we needed. The apt itself was clean and had fully stocked. The view was incredible and having a little deck was even better. We watched the seals out on a rock in the middle of the river everyday. The house was located about it twenty minutes down from the town but the drive was so nice it wasn't hard to go in for groceries or anything. We spent each day going out to different towns for touristy things, even Acadia one day which was a beautiful 3 hour drive. One thing I wish we had done was rent kayaks for the week to have down at her dock. The Sheepscot river is so nice and peaceful that it would have bee great to be able to go out for a paddle in the mornings. We did go into booth bay to kayak, but the marina wasn't as quiet and natural as the sheepscot. There is a beautiful little hike about a 3 minute drive or so away that goes out along the west shore of Westport island that was one of my favorite parts of the trip. I went out and hiked or ran it three times while I was there because it was so close and the trail through such a nice forest. It cuts out along the coast and is perfect for the sunset if you're willing to hike back a mile in the dark. It's called the Bunyon preserve and mary has a copy of the map at the apt. Anyways, it was a wonderful stay and I recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet Maine getaway! Thanks Mary!

Beautiful views of the Sheepscot River. The apartment is adequate, but has a bit of a spartan feel to it. Be aware that there is no air conditioning! It can get warm in Maine in the summer, even on the coast. I stayed three nights, and one night it was very warm and uncomfortable. I even went out and bought a fan, but sleeping that night was nearly impossible. I left the fan behind and hope it will help others on hot nights. Also be aware that it is a very long drive to a grocery store. The nearest full featured grocery store I could find was in Bath, about 15 miles away, so stock up before you arrive. But all in all, a pleasant accommodation with a beautiful view, and if you are looking for a quiet getaway far from the bustle of Route 1, you'll find it here.

Our stay was perfect... the cottage by itself is better than the description and photos, the location is amazing and the view is fantastic including all the seals every morning. The place is so quiet and relaxing, clean and well equip. Mary and Rick are wonderful and so friendly, we had no issue at all during all the stay. We will recommend that place to all our friends and big chance that we do this again! 5 stars all the way. Merci beaucoup, Chantal & Alain ;O)
