A traditional Bulgarian peasant's mountain cottage lovingly retored, with traditional character but a modern bathroom.
The whole timber framed house is available with many traditional folklore items and features.
It has a paved patio and balcony for open air dining with pleasant views.
The 2000squ m garden is private and surrounded by forest close to the mountains.
The walking is spectacular.
There are nearby restaurants. The nearest (3km) has swimming pools (small fee) and a play area.
There are wood burning stoves in each room. Logs are provided.
Try an open fire in the huge hearth to relax in the evening.
The paved patio is sheltered by an old stone wall and sun loungers are available. It is spectacularly quiet as the road is screened by trees and close enough to be convenient but not close enough to be heard.
The whole house and 2000squ m of garden, the balcony and patio is exclusively yours for your stay.
Interaction with guests
I am available in nearby Kravenik some of the time and am always available on the telephone for advice and translation.
Other things to note
Walking and restaurants the White house.
The best restaurants are in Ostrets.
Drive to the square and turn left. First left again up hill leads to 2 good restaurants.
Alternatively continue past the left turn and a restaurant is signposted to the right. Follow the signs. It is very good. It also has a swimming pool. Most of the restaurants have internet.
This road from Ostrets also takes you into the mountains. It gets a bit rough but keep going and you follow a river which is on your right. There are excellent places for picnic where you can cool off in pools in the river.
There is good walking straight from the white house. Just take the track back in direction Tabashco and explore. I have seen wild boar in the forest higher up and there are also bear. These are not as dangerous as the Bulgarian drivers.
- ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING ANYWHERE IN THE BUILDING. The house has wooden walls and ceilings.
- Price is per person. Please do not book one person one night. Two nights or two people minimum please otherwise it does not even cover cleaning costs.
I am a Bulgarian maths teacher married to a British retired airline pilot/school teacher.
We have 2 bilingual children aged 11 and 14.
