A complete renovation was just finished, new paint, brand new flooring installed with wall to wall radiant heating under the floor. Brand new kitchen, fixtures, sliding barn door, brand new shower with subway tile and carrara marble mosaic floor. New vanity, new toilet, all new lighting. The kitchen comes equipped with a brand new microwave and an induction burner and copper pots for cooking, mini fridge and sink. Coffee and organic teas are provided as well as a pour over coffee maker and tea kettle. The bed is a twin daybed that easily pulls out to be a king size bed with a very comfortable memory foam mattress. All luxury bedding, linens and towels are included. The house is conveniently located right next door to Phil's Snack Shack restaurant which opens daily at 7am and serves up delicious breakfast and lunch.
World class surf spot located just steps from this cottage. Amazing kayaking adventures right out front in the endless nature preserves and sloughs and harbors of Moss Landing. The sea otters are very friendly and will probably try to jump in the kayak with you! Whale watching, nature hikes and the awesome beach bike trail along the picturesque slough and Salinas River State Beach.

The owners have an ocean kayak, beach cruisers, surfboards, wetsuits, body boards and more available to borrow for a small fee. The house has big beach towels included for you to use while you are here.
Bring your small dog! Small children ok too if they are small enough to share the king size bed with you.
This cottage has a history of it's own! Built back in 1910, this was the original bait shop back when Highway One ran where Moss Landing Road is today. It was converted into a surfboard maker's shop back in the 1950's and 1960's. In the 1970's it was an art gallery, then antique store throughout the 1980's. It was the Moro Cojo Art gallery again in the 1990's and then converted into a small cottage for residence. Lots of history in these old redwood walls!

Guest access

The house is located right on Moss Landing road and has it's own parking space in front. you don't have to walk past the owners or anyone else to get into the house, the entry is completely private. There is a lockbox, so no need to deal with owners about checking in or checking out.

Interaction with guests

We bought this unique property last year because the location in unbeatable. Only a few steps to the gorgeous white sand beaches that stretch for miles, the house itself is a waterfront property, with most of our acreage extending into the actual ocean slough itself! The property is a marine sanctuary, and is overflowing with sea life, it's like living in a national geographic nature documentary with the sea otters playing in front of the house, the great blue herons, egrets roosting in our trees and hundreds of other rare birds living in the water in front of our home. The house dates back to 1910. We love the history of this very truly unique home. We are a small family of husband and wife with 2 little boys. Our house is located behind the cottage, separated by a 8' tall fence. We respect your privacy and you probably won't even see us since the cottage is right in the road and you don't need to walk by us to get to the cottage, it is a separate unit and is only for vacation rental use, no one lives there.

This place is beautiful! Very unassuming. After a long day and a half of traveling and work, this gem was so comfortable. They thought of everything! Cool history to the place. And the interior is amazing. Loved the list of restaurants, etc. very helpful. Best part: the record player. Thanks for sharing your fave vinyls.

Wonderful location, Jamie's property was perfect for a beach walk, a stroll through the town, a quick bite, and a wonderful dining experience at Phil's. Want to whale watch (which means, a nice boat ride out to the harbor)? Done. Want to walk about with friendly locals? Done. Into my boy Shakespeare? Walking distance away to a whole building of literature, props, costumes, and enthusiastic folks who will make sure you have a prop sword in hand whilst posing for a pic for momma. Jamie's place was accommodating, safe, quiet, and welcoming.

Thank you so much for a beautiful and comfortable place to stay. It was the perfect spot for my wife that is an avid wildlife and landscape photographer. Plus our little dog Zeke loved it too since he was able to go in and out as he pleased due to the baby gate you had provided. Thank you for tips about the dog friendly beach. Also we appreciated how quickly you responded before and during our stay to any questions we had. We hope to stay again the future.

Moss Landing was misty and cloudy the day and a half I was there - but scenic and different. Kind of throw-back-old-timey. I think you can walk the whole town in less than an hour, yet it still has good restaurants and nice beaches. Place was exactly as described. Cute, cozy and comfortable. Jamie was super friendly and accommodating. I really enjoyed meeting her. Would recommend her place to anyone that wants to check out Moss landing.

What a great little find. A cosy little cottage close to everything you want to see in Moss Landing ie. otters, seals and whales. The cottage is warmly heated with beautiful decor and up market amenities all put together very tastefully. Jamie and her family provided us the utmost privacy yet were kindly offering tips and suggestions as were needed. Thanks so much for the hospitality Jamie. Highly recommended.
