This is a large private en-suite bedroom in our family home. The bed is super king size with comfortable cotton bedding and feather pillows and duvet. Let us know if you can't do feathers! The room is shabby chic style with gorgeous views and antique furnishings. The room is accessed by a private staircase.

The space

Our cottage is lively and homely and peaceful. We're a great base if you're planning to visit Blenheim Palace.

Guest access

There is a private staircase and landing to the room. No access to the kitchen please. In the room tea/coffee facilities are provided and a few extra tasty essentials, with our compliments.

Interaction with guests

We're around to help and suggest nice places to visit and dine.

Other things to note

There's a lovely pub (it featured in the 2016 Vodafone Christmas ad) at the top of the lane.

We have a dog and a cat. They are both very friendly but furry but kept out of guests' way.

Victoria was a great host - extremely friendly and helpful. She accommodated us at short notice and the communication was excellent. The room was bright, clean and spacious. The house was in a quiet street, which was a short walk from the train station. We were able to get to Blenheim Palace easily. It was the first time we had stayed in a room rather than an apartment but Victoria made us feel very welcome while also giving us privacy. We really enjoyed our stay and the croissants in the morning was a much appreciated touch!

All in all this was a good place to base yourself for a stay in Oxford. The check-in arrangements were easy and organisation with Victoria was good, even at a days notice. The location is an easy walk to the train station which is around a 10 min journey into oxford. There is a decent pub just around the corner which is good for food and beer. The facilities in this room were good however the bathroom was not completely clean, particularly the sink. Upon showering in the evening I only had tepid water and had to hold the head straight as it kept falling down. Despite this the bed was something else! Huge, fluffy and comfy! There are a few windows that are not covered with curtains so if you are looking for a lie in it may not work but it was fine with me! Would happily stay again

Charming cottage in a very quiet location but within easy reach of Witney/Oxford. Victoria is a lovely lady who made us feel welcome and even bought us croissants and fruit for our breakfast.

Victoria was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The room was large and airy with one of the most comfortable beds we've ever stayed in! Private room / staircase with en suite shower.

I'm a mother of two children. I work for Oxford University in Alumni and Comms. This involves organising lots of events and generally making alumni feel valued. So, you can see why I'm happy to open up our family home to new travelers and potential friends. It's kind of natural for me.
