My place is walking distance to restaurants, shops, art galleries, wine tasting rooms, family-friendly activities, and nightlife. You’ll love my place because of the historic charm, location, and the ambiance. My place is good for couples, a group of friends, solo adventurers, and business travelers.

The space

The first thing you’ll notice when you step into Agave Chapel is all of the interesting architectural details, from the spiral stair case and wagon wheel chandelier in the foyer to the wall of French doors in the living room that lead to the private courtyard. This spacious two bedroom home was once a wedding chapel and is now the perfect getaway for 2 couples. The chapel is very spacious with an open concept and saltillo tile throughout which makes it a perfect space for viewing the 55” television or breaking bread at the large dining room table. An antique double door provides a grand entrance to the downstairs bedroom that’s furnished with a queen size bed and has a private bath with a shower. The spiral staircase leads you up to a loft style bedroom that has a King size bed and also has it’s own shower.

One of your hostesses favorite things to do is open the doors and windows during the spring and fall and enjoy the crisp, cool Hill Country mornings and evenings. Whether you rent the Chapel by itself or together with the Cottage for a group of six, they both offer a large amount of privacy for only being one block from Main Street with your own private parking.

Stay here!! The chapel is a unique GEM in Fredericksburg. The location is perfect--very convenient for walking yet not loud. Assigned parking was a nice bonus. Checking in and out is done at the office on main street. We checked in after hours so the key was left for us on the front porch of the chapel. It is beautiful inside and out with so much charm and originality. It is comfortable and was perfect for our dual couple getaway weekend (2 beds, 2 baths--one upstairs, one downstairs). The outdoor patio is private and has lovely lighting. It is a unique place and I would absolutely stay here again!

I'm a small local business owner of Gästehaus Schmidt Lodging and was raised here in Fredericksburg, TX. I moved to Austin to attend the University of Texas where I resided for 18 years. My beautiful family along with this wonderful small town was my reason for returning to Fredericksburg. I hope you stay with us and enjoy our charming little town as much as I do.
