About this listing
To truly experience Cuban culture, you need to be in the center of it all and that is exactly where you will find yourself. An apartment in the Heart of Downtown Havana - walking distance to the US Embassy, National Hotel, Habana Libre Hotel, University of Havana and the Sea Walk-Malecon. At the surrounding hotels, you will find internet service, currency exchange and tours & excursions to book. We are surrounded by amazing Paladares & Restaurants - Old Havana is only a 10 min cab ride away.
Close to many cultural, tourist and local attractions, our building is located in a very central street so finding a cab is no problem. The Art Factory (Contemporary, cultural and privately owned center with unique offerings such as films, concerts & art exhibitions - check it out onTripAdvisor) as well as many Museums are only 10min cab ride away. We are also surrounded by many Paladares (Privately owned Restaurants) where you will be able to experience amazing Cuban and International foods. Each bedroom has A/C, a flat screen TV with HDMI inputs, walk in closests and comfortable double beds. The kitchen is fully furnished with hot water and a centralized water system. Hot showers are no problem, but you may prefer a cold shower instead :) We have an exterior balcony with a partial street view. You will have the entire place to yourself and our onsite manager, Magalys, will be there to check you, provide you with the keys and answer any questions you may have. She lives in the same building and will be available in the event you need assistance. We offer a mini-bar of soda, water and beer (subject to availability & additional cost). We also offer breakfast services for an additional cost. We do have a modern coffee maker but suggest you bring our own coffee. We offer a complimentary sheet change, towel change and apartment cleaning every third day (this does not include dishes and laundry).
You can access all areas of the apartment, with the exception of a locked closet near the laundry room which houses some of the controls to the water and heating system.
Interaction with guests
When you arrive, you will be greeted by our on site contact, Magalys (Bilingual - English/Spanish) who will check you in, show you the apartment, review the house rules, provide you with the keys and answer any questions you might have. She will also be available in the event any issues with the accommodations arise during your stay. We have also created a comprehensive guest book that provides a brief history of Cuba, historic places you may want to visit, where to eat among many other things.
Other things to note
Cabs will be available at the airport for transportation, generally around $25. Old Havana is about a 10 minute cab ride away. Please plan to bring plenty of cash, Cuba can be expensive so be prepared. Foreign credit cards do not work in Cuba, After booking is complete, please email us your flight itinerary so we can properly plan for your arrival. Lastly, please remember that Cuba is a beautiful yet underdeveloped nation. Due to our location, we rarely experience power or water outages but they can happen. Again, due to our location (same grid as National Hotel, Habana Libre, Focsa, US Embassy, etc), We RARELY, if ever, experience this. Just be prepared for things that are out of our control. That goes not just for our place, but any place you decide to rent in Havana. My favorite saying to all of our guests is (URL HIDDEN) open minded, go with the flow and remember, Cuba is Cuba :)
In order to ensure the property stays in perfect shape for future guests, it is important to follow certain basic civic rules. You agree to return the apartment in perfect condition at the end of your stay. You must assume full financial responsibility for any damage or degradation, which you were personally responsible for, during your stay. Access to the apartment is reserved only for people who rent. Guests must provide their personal contact information to the apartment manager as required by Cuban Law. Smoking is allowed, but only on the exterior balcony.

My wife and I live in Seattle, WA but travel all over the place as much as we can. We love Mexico but our home in Havana is our favorite place to go and we are thrilled to be able to share it with you. Patricia was born and raised in Cuba blocks away from our apartment and came to the US over six years ago under the family re-unification act. We love being both hosts and guests. Cuba is one of those magical places where you feel free and connected to the people, culture, family and life in general. We hope that you decide to stay with us if you ever visit Havana.
