Your perfect spot to enjoy the Total Eclipse in peace! This clean & classic home is in the center of it all--only 2-3 blocks to downtown Madras shops & restaurants, 2-3 blocks from Madras High School (NASA) & Sahalee Park; 1.5 miles to fairgrounds. Watch the eclipse from the comfort of your own cottage garden and wrap-around porch. The 1-level interior receives ample natural light, w/AC. We are cozy minimalists, so you will be greeted by a clean, organized, comfortable home to enjoy as your own!

The kitchen is at your complete disposal, with oven/stove, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. Laundry room with washer/drier. The master bedroom holds a 4-poster double bed with good new mattress. The 2nd bedroom holds a single bed and a crib (this room also contains a curated collection of childrens toys such as building blocks, rocking horse, dollhouse, for your kids' use, but neatly tucked out of sight). Big comfy sofa in living room. Double air mattress in sun room. Even a daybed on side porch for lounging outdoors. The kitchen is at your complete disposal, with oven/stove, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. Laundry room with washer/drier. High chair available upon request. Large driveway for off-street parking. Fully enclosed fenced back yard space for relaxing and dining in privacy, parking your bikes overnight, enjoying views of the train bridge & hillsides in the distance. The west-facing side porch with wicker chairs is the perfect spot to enjoy your coffee in the fresh morning air, or a glass of wine in the evening shade. And of course, from here you will have perfect views of the total eclipse!

Full house and yard at your disposal. Lots of outdoor space for you to enjoy: the quiet backyard with privacy fencing and shade or the front/side yard with white picket fence and cottage style landscaping. Picnic tables and BBQ are available for your use. Ample parking space in double wide private driveway (inquire about dry camping an RV there for additional fee).

Interaction with guests

We will be here to welcome you at check-in, and available throughout your stay if you have questions. While we were Jenni's first guests, you wouldn't know that from how perfect everything was. The house was clean and ready for us even though we showed up into town ahead of schedule. The house is adorable, and everyone walking by while we were sitting on the wrap around porch each evening complimented us on it. The yard was perfect for our family to always find a shady spot for our daughter to play - whether that was in the big grassy side yard, or in the back yard with toys, chickens, ducks, and a castle! The layout of the house was perfect for my wife and I, my in-laws and our 1 year old daughter. Our daughter slept well in the crib, and loved playing with all of the toys and stuffed animals (and the chickens!). My in-laws slept on the sun porch and were perfectly comfortable and my wife and I were in the master bedroom. We made use of the grill, and while the kitchen might seem small with old house charm, it worked great for us and we cooked a feast every night we were there. The eggs from chickens were an amazing addition to our breakfasts. The location is Madras was perfect - we were 2 blocks from a park and playground, 2 blocks from the school for more adventures, and 2 blocks from the main part of town with restaurants and shops. We happened to be there for the solar eclipse when the town went from a few thousand to hundred thousand people, and yet, the house still felt quiet and peaceful. It was a quick drive to the distillery and airport to see some planes as well. Jenni and her husband were incredibly responsive to our questions, and were fantastic hosts. If you're ever looking for a place in Madras, and they happen to have their house listed, I can't imagine why you would stay any where else.
