This is the perfect place for 2 people to stay at, its located in the center of it all. The beach is just one street away, and theres many restaurants in the area. Right next to the building there is a super market, we went there a couple of times to get water and any other essentials we needed. Theres a doorman in the lobby which made us feel comfortable. The area is safe you can walk around to shop or to eat with no worry . I would suggest not going out too late at night around the beach. Everything was great, the communication between us and Karen was great any questions we had she was there to answer them. This was our first time staying at a air bnb outside of the US and were glad we stayed here. We felt very comfortable thanks to Karen.

This flat is fantastically located, super close to the beach and a short walk to the metro. It's right by lots of great restaurants. Perfect apartment to enjoy Rio from, wish I could stay longer!

Karen was great and the process for checking-in and checking-out easy and timely. We loved staying in Copacabana and being close to the beach was perfect. Great for a long weekend or more!

Lovely apartment. It's hard to find a place like this in Rio especially at that price. A/c was cool and the wifi was reliable (for Brazil). Great location. Hope to be back soon.

One word: NOISE. Non stop noise! From both the very busy street and the neighbors, that makes it impossible to sleep or rest. And Karen will certainly say that t's because of the Olympics period... But NO, it's because of the windows and the neighbors. I had a confirmation that the street is always busy. The two other problems (no greeting and a bad cleaning) I have experienced can easely be corrected...

Response from Karen:
Olivier, I'm sorry to read you have had this experience during your stay. I admit that there was an unexplainable confusion at the time of arrival and I reported this to the agency that makes the check-ins and cleaning. They admitted they were overloaded during the Olympics and made mistakes as a consequence of that. They also sent more qualified cleaning staff after I conveyed your discontent. Again, I apologize for this inconvenience. Then, about the noise: in fact, I can only say that unfortunately, it is! because of the Olympic Games period. If you read the previous reviews you will see that in general people do not complain of an "abnormal" noise. Of course there is some noise, as you are in the city and in a building with small apartments and many neighbors. Of course you always hear the traffic especially in rush hours. But it’s the tenth floor and the ‘quiet' end of Copacabana. Normally it’s not like you cannot sleep or rest because of traffic. The neighbors also make some noise as well. Only both inconveniences, unfortunately, were definitely increased because of the period. I was in the apartment the week before you, and the building was already taken by olympic guests. There was a german group (just bad luck because Germans are mostly very nice and polite people!) who only communicated by screaming, indeed. I also heard many other nationalities of seasonal guests, including different Brazilian accents, of course. Traffic was abnormal, yes!! It is normal to hear buses/honking at 7, 8 a.m. and then at night at 6:00, 7:00 p.m. But there was traffic in Copacabana until 11:00 p.m, and in the weekend. Very annoying were also the rows of police scouts in motorcycles, the sirens of the police cars… at any time. This is absolutely not normal. I think you are right in your complaints and I apologize for this experience but I can assure you this would have been different if you had stayed during the low-season.
