Wonderful, homely and arty house. Excellent host and ideal location for Newcastle or exploring further into Northumberland. Could happily have stayed longer.

Jane and Tony offer a lovely annexed half of their end of terrace house. The house is at the far end of a narrow very quiet street. It is simply but nicely kitted out with comfortable beds and living room furniture that can cope with small people whilst being attractive. The kitchen was modern enough and has plenty of crockery and pans to allow us to cook for our horde. The bathroom is small and gets pretty steamy and damp - but that's because there is no lack of hot water and the shower/bath is strong. Parking is provided off street which is a nice touch though don't attempt to bring your humvee as there is not the space to turn it! Overall, for the price, we were delighted and very happy. It's a bit of a drive to many of the Northumberland attractions but that's wasn't a big deal.

Response from Jane:
Thanks for your review Rob. Its always good to get constructive feedback. I have already made changes in response. Its unfortunate that we didn't get a chance to talk about your stay in detail before you left, as I'm always looking to improve the quality of guests visits.

This is a lovely house to stay in - very cosy, tranquil and a perfect base for our mini-holiday with our 13 year old son exploring Hadrian's Wall and the Northumberland coast. It's well equipped, with plenty of room, thoughtfully decorated, nice patio, and secure parking. It's great value for money, Jane's very relaxed and straightforward, and we would definitely visit again!

Comfortable, quiet house. Very nice garden where you can sit out and chat or eat. Off street parking was very useful. The hosts were very friendly and even took us all the way to Beamish when we could not get a taxi.

The house is in a very quiet area and has everything you need to spend a few days visiting the attractions in the area. It has a lovely garden and easy parking space at the end of the street. Jane is very friendly and it was very easy to communicate with her.

Jane and Tony were very welcoming, their home filled with character and charm. They have a very tranquil garden, great for alfresco dining and listening to the birds. The house is clean and spacious. We have family in the area so it's perfect for visiting them whilst having our own space. Not far from Newcastle and Gateshead, about 10 minutes from the A1 motorway. We'll be back!

I'm a self-employed artist. I love walking, travelling in my campervan , collecting vintage treasures, and spending time with family and friends. I've lived here for 30 years and welcome you to this lovely village. I'm happy to help with any enquiries about the flat and its surrounding amenities but will leave you to enjoy your visit in peace.
