A smartly furnished old fishermans cottage in the heart of Hayle, perfect for exploring Cornwall! Just a couple of minutes walk to Hayle Quay, the stunning Hayle Rivermouth and shops, everything is at your convenience. Features well equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge, garden & BBQ.

Beautiful 4 mile St Ives bay 5 mins drive, with St Ives town just around the corner. Other attractions within 30 mins drive include the Minnack theatre, Porthcurno and Lands End. Eden Project is around 50 mins.

The space

Built in the 1820s, this old fishermans cottage has been smartly renovated but retained it's classic Cornish charm. It features a well equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge with flat screen TV, 3 bedrooms and one bathroom, work friendly desk space, play area with kids toys and a garden with seating and Webber BBQ. The bed set up is one double, one twin and one bunk.

The local butchers, bakery, pasty shops and large supermarket are only a couple of minutes walk. Whats more, the picturesque Hayle Quay and stunning white sands of the river mouth are also under 10 minutes walk away. By car you can reach the beautiful 4 mile St Ives bay within 5 minutes, and enjoy the tourist attractions within the town itself!

Furthermore, you are perfectly situated to enjoy many of Cornwall's attractions by car. Around 30 mins away is the historic Minnack theatre - an incredible theatre carved into the cliffs edge. Over the summer they show many productions, including Shakespeare and kids shows in the day, so check the schedule and book in advance! Lands end, Porthcurno, Flambards Theme Park and the Seal Sanctuary can also all be reached within 30 mins.

Around 50 mins drive away is the Eden Project, but it is well worth the drive. Described by some as the 8th wonder of the world, 3 giant greenhouse biomes house artificial environments. Wonder through rainforest, Mediterranean, African climates and more! There are guided walks and many events on so again check the calendar.

This was our first Airbnb experience and we couldn’t be more happy. We found out host William responded within minutes to any questions we had and provided accurate information. Fisherman’s cottage is really beautifully presented, well equipped with all basic requirements, very clean and ample hot water. Lovely warm doonas keep you toasty at night. We stayed including our granddaughter from Queensland (30 deg C on her leaving) during a cooler month, but the heating quickly warmed the rooms and can be turned back off. Although no on site parking we had no difficulty finding an early morning free space in adjoining street so didn’t need to utilise the car park. For us the added bonus of a supermarket and restaurants within a 3 minute walk made our visit even easier. Due to the weather we didn’t use the garden but could envisage sitting out on a warm summer evening as very private. Hayle is very close to many tourist must sees so a very convenient location. If William will have us we will definitely like to stay again, we highly recommend it.

William was really quick to respond to our messages, and gave clear instructions about checking in. The house was really well equipped (especially the kitchen!) and provided a luxuriously big space for two of us - would have been fine for more people to stay, with the caveat of only one bathroom. The house is well located for drivers, giving easy access to to a30 and West Cornwall, and was spotlessly clean. Thanks very much for a great long weekend, we had a wonderful time.

Thanks to William and his charming cottage, My family and I had a wonderful time. There was everything you need for a great break from day to day life. The beach is a short walk away with independent shops and little gems hidden away. We found a fabulous antique shop in the local chapel just a 1 minute walk away from the house! This house was perfect for anyone who loves a adventure! The town is steeped in history and you can go on endless walks and find some amazing historical and geographical sights and if you love to shop and relax, you can take a bus or drive into St Ives just a few miles away and you can treat yourself to cornish pastries and delightful handmade art works, and much more! Visited The sloop Inn! Right on the beach in St Ives, very old sweet traditional fisherman's pub. Would recommended The Victoria sponge cake was delicious and you get a very nice coffee or tea for the prive of a London coffee..lol. In Hayle there are many places to eat and drink that caters for all style of cusine but if you fancy a night in the cottage with a book or tv you have a fully functioning kitchen with everything you need to prepare your own meals. We had a few meals out and cooked breakfasts and prepared lunch indoors. The bedrooms a comfortable sizes and beds sleep well, the owner provided clean towels on the beds also. The living room was cosy and is a nice room to chill in, although we are kitchen dwellers lol! Through the kitchen/ dining room leads to a nice garden area. Bathroom has nice size bath with shower facility. To sum up, would go back!
