The little Shephers’ Hut next the Sea is easy to find, because the Blue Skies Campsite where it is sited is next the the Wells to Walsingham Light Railway station (you can hear the train whistle blow and smell the steam engines when they arrive). As you leave Wells on the A149 to…

As an experienced camper (tents with no electric) this was my little out of season treat for a few days of me time - well worth it! The description of the accommodation was spot on. Additional little touches - a welcome gift and the local advice all added to the experience. I to…

Really beautiful hut and great quality everything! Bed is so comfy and the fire is a great source of heat and atmosphere. All the hosts recommendations were spot on, the town is a short walk away but do bring a torch for the walk home at night! My only slight downside was that i…

Thanks for the lovely review. You hopefully found the torch I provide for night-time walks back & emergencies. The North Norfolk coast boasts some of the darkest skies in the country, protected by its status as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You mention the reception hut that is beyond the car parking space in front of the shepherd hut's garden area. One of my greatest extravagances was the pleached eleagnus to screen off the shepherd's hut garden area, making it more private. I've been thinking of a rose arch too, but it would be a few hundred pounds as it would have to be bespoke. So one to save up for. In the meantime, I've also planted a yew hedge to further screen off the rest of the campsite. The land is owned by Holkham and they recently trimmed the bushes along the road but hopefully this means they'll grow back even more vigorously! Glad you had a lovely time.

Had a lovely time in the hut - despite the mini beast from the east trying it's hardest! It was certainly a few degrees too cold for the hut (and we need to brush up our wood burning skills!) But the hot water bottles and duvets made for a cosy nights sleep. Zoe was a wonderful h…

Wells beach was named Sunday Times "Beach of the Year" in 2016 and it's not hard to see why. The wide open skies, the sense of freedom even on a busy summer's day, the sweep of colourful huts against …
