Cozy two bed, two bath, waterfront condominium located in Eastman, a 4 season family focused recreational community in the Upper Valley of NH and VT. The Upper Valley is one of New Hampshire’s “hidden treasures” with a host of recreational and cultural amenities away from the hustle and bustle, crowds and noise of the big box resorts. Tucked behind a grove of birch and hemlock, our condo feels secluded, but is only 150 feet or so from the lake and an association beach.

The space

The first floor bedroom has a queen sized bed. The second floor bedroom has two twins. The loft has a day bed with trundle and sleeps two, and there is a pull- out sofa in the living room.

Guests have access to XFinity TV, High Speed Internet and wireless connectivity. There is a flat screen TV in the living room with built in Netflix access and an Apple TV for those with their own subscriptions . And there are board games and books aplenty for those who just want a break from technology.

The kitchen includes a 4 burner electric oven, fridge, new microwave, Keurig, toaster oven, and all necessary cooking / dining utensils.

Guest access

Eastman boasts a 2 mile lake, an 18 hole golf course, restaurant and bar, hiking and cross country ski trails, tennis courts, and an onsite recreation center where guests can use the indoor pool and fitness center and rent boats for a nominal fee.

Eastman is within 25 minutes of Mt. Sunapee to the south, and the towns of West Lebanon and Hanover and Dartmouth College to the north. The Vermont border, and the towns of Norwich, White River Junction and Woodstock are within a 30-40 minute drive.

Interaction with guests

We live in Southern, NH and are available by phone, text and email throughout your stay. We also coordinate with a local realtor for check in/out logistics and related activities.

Other things to note

Jet ski boats are not permitted on Eastman Lake.

Dan's place is a hidden gem in Grantham, NH. My family and I recently visited for a 3 night stay. We loved it! The condo is very clean, homey and very comfortable. Dan is both flexible and receptive to any questions or concerns. It is a great place to rent for a family vacation. The beach is so close by within walking distance of the condo. The water is clean. Swimming a lot of fun. My family did the trail to the recreation center. The walk to the recreation center was a bit longer than suggested. It's probably a good 2 mile hike. We saw small frogs, beautiful flowers, blueberry bushes. We played games at the recreation center. It's a nature lovers paradise. Thank you Margie and Mark

Dan and Tammy were incredibly responsive and accommodating before and during our stay. Their condo is exactly as advertised and was a spacious and serene getaway for our family of two adults, two teenaged sons and almost nine year-old daughter. We would enthusiastically recommend their place for anyone interested in Eastman Lake or the nearby Sunapee resort area. The highlight of our stay was the condo. It was clean and cozy, with beds, sheets and towels -- enough for everyone. We especially enjoyed sitting for hours at a time in the living room and reading from Dan and Tammy's diverse library. There were a few days when the temperature was slightly cooler than average, but the heater was quite effective in warming us up. The high speed internet was perfect, though we really didn't need it as we unplugged our devices and went old school with nature. :-) The kids loved being able to play with Legos and other toys. We were also given access to the Eastman Community Association Center which has a heated pool with lap lanes and a very accessible kid-friendly area. There was a fully equipped gym and a game room with air hockey and foosball. There was an additional fee of $6-$9 per day/per person to use the community center, but if you planned a longer stay they also offered a "passport" for a full family to use all the facilities for up to a week for $80. We used the pool 3 of the 4 days of our stay so this was worth it. There were also kayaks, canoes, trikes, paddleboats, and paddle boards for reasonable rent. We had some great fun with kayaks exploring the lake. The center only accepted cash or check, or charges to the owner's account, and because we didn't bring much cash with us, we were able to (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Dan and Tammy and they charged our kayak and passport fees to their account. Thanks again for that! There were numerous trails to hike around Eastman lake, and a fun beach was right around the corner from the condo. There were plenty of toys on our deck to take with us to the beach. One evening we drove to Lake Sunapee for a sunset dinner cruise - another fantastic excursion! We were even more appreciative of the quiet we were afforded at Eastman Lake versus the much busier scene at Sunapee. Overall we had a wonderful time and appreciated our hosts and the amenities of this beautiful property. We hope to be back soon!
