It was one of the most remarkable and luxurious structure of the time featuring German made metal ceiling in the main lobby with expensive imported marble and fine bronze detailing with a beautiful terazzo floor. The station was featured in the 1984 film Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence (starring David Bowie) to represent the central railway station in Kuala Lumpur-Malaysia.

Our host was very welcoming and helpful, he made our travel arrengements really easy and he gave us a tour of the building and the facilities. The building itself is an old railway station and as such the entrance is quite impressive. The apartment is ok, close to what's described in the add. There's noise from the trains but as I'm used to sleeping with earplugs (provided by the host) I didn't mind. The downsides I found were that it's a room with a kitchenette so it can get quite crowded after a while and the proper kitchen is outside in the common area so it's a bit of a hassle to cook. We didn't mind because our stay was short. The apartment is really close to the CBD and next to Spark Arena so that was great.

I had a great experience at Francis' place. From check in to check out everything was as expected and he is a wonderful host. Location was perfect for me since I was attending a show at Spark Arena and the apartment is right next door! Thanks Francis!

Had a wonderful stay! Francis was more than accommodating when we were running a bit late and was very helpful regarding things to see in Auckland. I did not find the train noise bothersome, but he provided ear plugs for anybody that may.

Studio is in real historical well kept building (old Auckland Railway Station). Loacation just beside Spark Arena with good restaurants and a big supermarket nearby. Ideal place if you make the Northern Explorer Railway tour to Wellington, which is really great ..! Strand Station is just 10 minutes walk away. Francis is very friendly - communication & check-in is perfect. Studio is clean but notice that trains passing nearby is a bit noisy fm 7am until about 10pm. For short stays fully recommended.
