The space

FANTASTIC Chicago apartment with Mid Century Modern decor, WiFi, cable, heating and a/c!

This apartment is on Elston in River West between downtown Chicago and Wicker Park. Enjoy great local coffee while you shop and stop in a variety of great bars, restaurants and more. Some of my personal favorites are Lou Malnati's Pizza, Windy City Cafe, Twisted Spoke, Pie-Eyed, Big Star, Stan's Donuts, Au Cheval and RPM Steak. You can not ask for a better location!

The Blue Line "L" Train is a 3 min walk. Head to your right (west) when leaving the building towards Milwaukee Ave and go left at Milwaukee. Then go left at Chicago Ave and you will see stairs to walk down to your right. Look for the digital sign.

The apartment is extremely well kept and super clean. Fresh paint throughout, beautiful new sofa surrounded by brass and white swivel cocktail tables and abstract rug! Great lamps and modern lighting. WiFi, TV, cable, queen size bed with new sheets and coverlet. Kitchen is complete with a full size fridge, stove, pots and pans, silverware, plates, glasses, coffee maker and more. Everything you need to have an amazing time! A lot was put into the concept of this Airbnb and our guests comfort. Just see the reviews of my other listings and see why guests chose to book with us. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The location of this place was awesome and there were tons of little eateries, coffee shops and pubs within walking distance. We got ambitious and walked to Michigan ave in under an hour an a half, so if you’re into long walks it’s definitely do-able! The views were great the whole way. But mostly we used Uber and it was always under 10 minutes to get to our destinations downtown. A downside was parking.. the street the apartment is on has free street parking, but they were all taken when we got there around 11AM so we parked around the corner and were not really sure if it was public parking or not. Later that night we were able to find a spot in front of the apartment but it was a little inconvenient. One major downside we had was entering the apartment... there were quite a few instructions on what to do when you arrive and there were all straightforward, but we didn’t actually “check in” to the apartment until about 8 or 9, so it was dark out. The corridor where the entrance is was completely dark and we had to use a phone flashlight to find the key and open the gate. It was so dark that we passed the door we were supposed to enter in because it looked like a gated window and we just didn’t even see it. So basically we entered the wrong door and were in pitch black garden area, confused, and we ended up having to call the host to figure it out. It was sorted out fairly quickly, but it was nerve wracking and frustrating not being able to easily get in. The hosts were very responsive to any question or concern I had so that was great. I would recommend this place and I’ll probably be back here next time I’m in Chicago, but the only thing to keep in mind is make sure you get there before it gets dark or you won’t be able to see much. Also, the neighbors above were very heavy footed and it sounded like they were moving furniture or stomping at night and early in the morning.

Patrick’s place was fantastic for our one night stay in the city. We didn’t really walk around the neighborhood as we went to a hockey game and came right home. The space was private and clean and safe. Would stay again.

Patrick's place is in a good location, close to restaurants, shops etc. The space was great, however, it did feel like we were being watched by the upstairs neighbours while we were checking in with our bags, which made us feel a little uncomfortable. All in all, we really enjoyed our time in Chicago. Thanks Patrick!
