Sited in a tranquil spot on our smallholding at the Lammas Eco-village, this little straw bale & lime plaster building with an earth floor is a totally unique experience in a very special setting. Plenty of green space, lots of animals, renewable energy & compost loos, for the adventurous and curious there is no place like this!
NB: One normal single bed 190cm long, but the second bunk bed is short (only 160cm long) and has limited head room, so therefore unsuitable for 2 large adults.

The space

Land based livelihood, low impact living, and the good life! All are part of our eco-smallholding where we make our living from the land. We have geese, chickens, dog, cats, sheep & ponies, hundreds of trees and lots of lovely walks and space to explore. We have built 3 roundhouses, a cruck frame barn and two cob greenhouses, as well as the eco-pod.

Guest access

You are welcome to wander around our smallholding and enjoy the space, and use the permissive footpaths around the eco village. The other buildings are private unless we are sharing food with you in the roundhouse. The shower is in a communal space so you will need to book that in with us!

Interaction with guests

You can usually find us nearby!

Other things to note

The compost loo is a small outdoor building with low light, please bring a torch as it gets dark here at night! The shower is a 'gravity shower', we use it ourselves and will help you set it up. All soaps etc must be biodegradable, and please keep traffic to a minimum.

Lovely restful place to stay. Great for coming to as a holiday in its own right as it's in the middle of beautiful countryside, but also good for anyone interested in smallholding or self sufficiency. The family was very warm and welcoming. Highly recommended!

Wonderful eco home stay with friendly hosts. This is an unusual rural place in a sustainable community. It is not luxurious, but it is very comfortable. Great breakfast with eggs laid in the small-holding which we ate in the family self-built round house accompanied with stories about life at Lammas. Location is magnificent - lucky those who get to stay with Cassandra and Nigel.

Lovely and cosy room. Warm and dry. Lower bed is as described - for a small person. Top one can fit 176cm person comfortably. This is an earth friendly home and expect this feeling as it is surrounded by beautiful land.
