This apartment was in a great location. Super easy to get around. Sarah was easy to work with. The gym upstairs is nice and gave me the opportunity to work out. I have to mention this because I was a little put off by it. The home is definitely lived in by someone. The closet is full of clothes and shoes, there are nik naks everywhere around the home, there is food in the fridge, the dishwasher was full, the bathroom has someone else's belongings in it. It was a little off putting because I wondered if the person who lives there was going to coming back while I was staying there. If these things are fine with you, all good! But for me I didn't feel I could relax. Also, there is no parking in the building, you'll need to park on the street or pay $40/night for a lot (cheaper on weekends).

First the Pros. A Fantastic location in a great neighborhood with easy walking amenities, as well as a nicely decorated apartment. Sarah was a very polite host, and answered most of my questions in a few hours. The cons: As stated above, I find it somewhat difficult not to give everything 5 stars, but as a business traveller, there were a couple of things that hold me back from going 5 full stars. The lack of cable TV, and pretty full closets might deter me from staying at this location again. that being said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this location, or this host. For a weekend getaway it would be perfectly charming!

I stayed at Valeria's place while in Boston for a 3-day conference in the Seaport area. It was okay but fell short of good. Initially I was excited by this listing because of the amazing skyline view in the primary photo. I assumed this photo was of the apartment - however it isn't, it's actually a shared common area that you can visit on the 20th floor. The listing mentioned rooftop twice but didn't mention the apartment was on the 9th floor. It doesn't have much of a view at all. It looks directly into the offices of LogMeIn. The apartment itself was comfortable. I had a similar experience to Joann. The Glade scent machine was overpowering when I first entered the apartment. Immediately had to unplug it and open all the windows to clear the air. There were several vases of dead flowers. Lastly, given the apartment was much smaller than the primary photo advertised, I feel that the price that was charged was poor value (especially the $80 cleaning fee). Had I realised that the property wasn't on a rooftop, I would have just stayed at conference hotel for the same price.

The maid quit... After a long travel day, it took at least two tries to get the doorman to let us into the apartment. I don't think they have any knowledge of (or would approve of) this being an Airbnb. Once inside, there were half dead flowers in vases. There were a ton of personal items--knick knacks, etc. all over. The floors were very dirty. My husband took a pic of the hairballs he swept up after I went to my conference the next day. The dryer still had wet towels in it and the tub was dirty (I had hair on my feet after I got out--and not the same color as mine!). There were dried water marks and toothpaste on bathroom sink when we arrived and our sheets had mascara on them which cleaned out as soon as we washed them. This made me wonder if the apt had been cleaned at all prior to our arrival. The one clothes closet is stuffed with someone else's clothes so we didn't have anywhere to hang our own clothes without shoving someone else's to the side (ick). There were wet towels and linens still in the dryer we had to take care of. The place itself is fantastic--just dirty. And as a side note, I am one of those people who can't handle perfume smells so the Glade Air Freshner about did me in. I appreciate the effort, but it just wasn't kept a 'neutral' space for guests to enjoy in terms of allergies/cleanliness. On the bright side, the apartment is laid out well and the finishes are up-to-date. The view is not great, but didn't matter. The rooftop deck is gorgeous. The location is perfect and is close walking distance to convention center, attractions, and restaurants. Always felt safe in neighborhood. Aside from plane traffic on the weekend, the place is very quiet and the tenants were very nice. Could've been a 5/5, but the lack of cleanliness was a bust--and I'm not that picky! Makes me wonder what the $80 cleaning charge is for...
