I relocated to Silver Spring and had been in hotels for the past two months. With not much luck on finding the perfect apartment, I decided it was best to go to an air b n b until I got my bearings. Found a great home and host, Mireille, who is warm and gracious. My room was tastefully decorated and I had my own bathroom. The local park and trails are amazing and most of all, I was staying just 20 mins from my job. Whether your stay is just a few days or a month, I would highly recommend this home!

I stayed here for almost six weeks whilst doing an internship in nearby Wheaton. Mireille is a very helpful host and I found everything as advertised. I was happy with my time here.

I stayed at this Airbnb for 6 weeks for a rotation at the FDA. I had such a great experience. The commute to the FDA was an absolute breeze...I walked to the bus stop (2-3 mins away) and the bus ride (C8 bus) took only 20-25 minutes to get right onto the FDA campus. The closest metro station is 1 mile away (Glenmont station) and can be accessed by bus (10). As for the home, I had the privacy that I wanted, but had the opportunity to socialize with other members of the household at my leisure. I had several great conversations with Mireille about a variety of different topics! She was instrumental to my great experience in Silver Spring, from her helpfulness to her overall warm personality. The home is clean, comfortable, and cozy. It is decorated beautifully with unique African art, adding a personal touch. The room and closet are spacious. The bathroom is clean and looks brand new, and I did not have to share with anyone, which was an added bonus (note: the bathroom is on the 1st floor and the bedroom is upstairs). Overall, this home was a perfect fit for me as a graduate student commuting to the FDA. One thing I would do differently would be to have a car with me while there, as it is a suburban area. Although the bus provides access to most places, and there is a shopping plaza 0.5 miles away, a car would have made things a lot easier. Thanks for a great stay, Mireille!

Mireille is very welcoming. I originally requested the basement suite but the previous guest ended up staying longer than expected so I was caught a little off guard when I arrived and it wasn't available. Luckily I ended up liking the room upstairs and decided to just stay there and the host offered extra days to make up for the price difference. I had to share the main kitchen with her and another guest. The semi private bathroom was (URL HIDDEN) neighborhood is a nice quiet family oriented area. I sleep during the day so it was quiet for the most part. The metro into the city of DC is nearby but not a walking distance.Mireille will offer you a ride to the station if needed and she also likes to cook.I ate dinner a couple of time with her and her daughter.Street parking is available. Overall, I am enjoying my stay. I would recommend staying here for guest that needs a place to stay for an extended time.

Mireille and her family were very welcoming! They were always friendly and helpful with any questions or concerns I had. I stayed for a 5 week rotation at the FDA and this location was very convenient for getting on the bus and riding 20 minutes to work or a 5 minute bus ride to a red-line metro station. The bus stop is a 3 minute walk from the house. Her home is very clean. Bedroom is spacious and has three large windows that face the front of the house which make it very light and bright. When I arrived the first day, Mireille even gave me a ride to the grocery store so I was able to get food right away. Even without a car for 5 weeks I was able to get to everywhere I wanted by bus and public transportation. I had such a great experience in the DC area and I would definitely recommend Mireille to other students looking for a longer term stay. Couldn't have been more pleased by Mireille and her hospitality(URL HIDDEN)

I stayed for a month while doing an internship. Mireille was very welcoming and friendly, and her home was lovely. The house is a short walk to botanical gardens and a park. I would definitely recommend her!
