Clean modern country cottage full of light in a peaceful setting

The space

Self contained cottage with an open plan living room and kitchen, wet room and a gallery style bedroom overlooking the views of lovely west cork.

We are set on 4 acres of property with a pond that regularly has ducks and herons coming to visit. Please feel free to sit beside the pond, have a chat, read a book and on a rare sunny day soak up some vitamin D.

The rest of the property i.e. The fields we would kindly ask you not to go into as there are rabbits, foxes and donkeys that we would like to be left alone. The donkeys are friendly but will literally bite the hand that feeds them, also one is extremely adept at landing her kicks on target.

We live in the other house on the property which is roughly 20 metres from the cottage.

Guest access

Access to the property is by an electric gate, you will have your own key for the house and gate for the duration of your stay. Private secure parking in a secluded, quiet cul de sac. Extremely safe.

You will have your own kitchen provided with all the mod cons including a dish washer and microwave. A spacious bathroom, tv, wifi, hot water and heating on demand etc. Large open plan living room with comfy couches to relax after a day spent exploring the Wild West.

Wireless Internet
Free parking on premises

Perfect location to start the wild Atlantic drive. The cottage design and the layout is very contemporary, every details has been very well worked out. Beds were very comfortable, and sheets clean. We had no problem reaching her place, all the communication was prompt and perfect. I will for sure, highly recommend anyone to stay at her place.

We were really happy with our stay at Grace's house. Beautiful open space, very quite and very comfortable bed. Really nice and quiet too. As we were driving in, Graces neighbours dog jumped up at our rental car and left very noticeable scratches on the door. (we did not notice until the next morning in the daylight) This is not a fault of Grace and her service, but when I contacted her about it telling her what had happened I got no response whatsoever. Other than this a wonderful stay!

Perfect spot for a couple or small family looking to visit west cork. Beautiful out house which was well designed and put together. Only a short drive from Skibbereen makes it the perfect spot for an Irish holiday

Grace's cottage is a lovely place to escape to. It's tucked away down a private road with farm land surrounding it. This modern cottage has a wall of sliding glass doors that look out onto a picture postcard pond view. The open plan space is modern and fresh, with a loft bedroom upstairs, and a spacious bathroom, plus an open plan living room and kitchen downstairs. It's a perfect place for a couple. Although we only stayed one night, we enjoyed a warm welcome from Grace, her boyfriend, and her three dogs, who are just begging to entertain you! If you're looking for a country escape and love dogs, this could be just the place!

This place is really amazing. If you're after a secluded few days away, I doubt you'd find any better. One word of warning though, once you meet the dogs you'll find it very difficult to stop throwing the frizbee.

We had a lovely weekend in Grace's beautiful cottage. Grace made sure we would have no problem locating the place or getting in, and was very welcoming. She also gave us a lot of good useful tips for the weekend, including recommending Lough Hyne where we spent a great afternoon, which really made our weekend! The cottage itself is almost brand new, and well equipped, and was very clean and bright. Internet worked well, satellite TV was available and the bed (mattress) was very good and comfortable. The cottage is located on an old small farm and the surroundings (the pond etc.) are even nicer than they look in the pictures. Grace's dogs were very friendly and lovely. The location is great: middle of the countryside, therefore very quiet, while very close to Skibereen or Baltimore / Lough Hyne. All in all I can only recommend Grace's place for short or longer stays!

Interaction with guests

Mathew and myself are both working full time, I am based in Skibbereen so am coming and going through the day. We are both around on weekends.

We traveled across America using AirBNB and found it a great way to get tips from locals on where to go, what to do etc so if you would like a chat please feel free. However we also understand people like their privacy so we are happy to leave you do your own thing.
