Beautifully restored historic 12th Century apartment in the heart of medieval village that was owned and lived in during the 1940s by the legendary French poet, writer and screenwriter Jacques Prévert.

The space

Situated in the heart of the medieval walled village of Saint Paul de Vence but benefitting from glorious views of both the sea to the south and the mountains to the north, the 100 sq metre apartment has just been beautifully restored while keeping all of its amazing original features. In Prévert’s old house, you’ll be staying in a piece of French history, with its ancient wooden beams, huge open fireplace for cozy winter nights, large vaulted-ceiling bathroom accessed through a mysterious tunnel, two large en-suite double bedrooms with fresh French linen sheets on the superking beds (that can separated into two large single beds if needed), fully equipped kitchen and private use of the jasmine-covered sun-trap terrace outside.

La Miette is an amazing place for a quiet, lazy and comfortable weekend away from the city. I recommend to everyone visiting the region. The house is lovely and Katie is a great host.

A wonderful place that lives up to the pictures and description. A great place to stay while visiting St Paul de Vence! Tip: If you have a *narrow* car, you can drive up and around the village to drop bags a few feet from the apartment. If you are lucky, you'll find parking in the lot just past the apartment on the right. Otherwise, you can drive the car back down past the entrance to the village and park in one of the main parking lots.

BRILLIANT! We have stayed in over 15 airb and b - by far the BEST yet. Katies attention to detail and incredible style/taste was amazing. It was out of a professional magazine. I know this will become the best rental in St Paul. The quality of the linens and the incredible attention to keep it architecturally accurate was precise! We will 100% come back. The pictures to not do it justice. It was so charming - no noise at all in the center but far enough away to get a wonderful sleep. The honor bar was fantastic and her communication was beyond what we could have expected. Katie was a pleasure to work with! We sat by the window to have cocktails and coffee overlooking the beautiful countryside. We will miss this place most of all our European travels.

Our 4-day stay at La Miette was absolutely enchanting. The villa has been beautifully remodeled and Katie and Oli have furnished this historic treasure both tastefully and comfortably - and we especially appreciated the luxurious bed linens, the olive oil bath soaps and fresh baguettes upon our arrival! We lounged by the windows and soaked in the sun, the cool breeze, the views of the garden, the surrounding hillside and the Mediterranean in the distance. We took several day trips, but were so content to come 'home' at night, and to walk along a medieval stone path to dine at one of the several incredible restaurants in the village, stopping to look in the windows of all the artist studios along the way. Staying at La Miette and in the village of St. Paul de Vence was an amazing way to experience both the simplicity and richness of French culture and history and we look forward to coming back again next year.

We had a wonderful time at La Miette and in St Paul de Vence, a small piece of French literary/artistic history. Katie and Oli have done a lovely job tastefully renovating Prevert's apartment. We enjoyed dining at home with views of the sea, the hills and St Paul. We slept very comfortably and quietly. Lots to do very close by. We would have stayed indefinitely :-)
