Great place! Clean and well-appointed. Plush, soft towels for bathroom, boxes of tissues available, soft bedding -- these things made me very happy. Exactly as described in listing and pictures (this review for Ashley's place in Upper Beaches). My spouse was impressed with the recent expensive and thorough remodel of the place. Ashley was a great host, told us everything we needed to know, answered our questions during stay pretty quickly. Be sure to park where she tells you to - we parked on a nearby street instead and got a parking ticket.
A few things for potential guests to know -
1. This place is on a busy street with a streetcar and plenty of foot traffic, located between shops. The front sitting room is noisy but a great place to sit and watch the world go by. Bedrooms are much quieter. We didn't try public transit, and driving took a while from downtown.
2. Although there are two pictures of staircases, I thought it was 2 views of one staircase. Nope, 2 staircases. They are somewhat steep and tall, you go inside and go upstairs to the bedrooms/front sitting room/bathroom, and then downstairs at the back of the place to access the kitchen/dining/sitting area. This is fine but could be a hassle, or a hazard, to know in advance. We have a 3.5 year old and it was fine, but a littler kid would have trouble, and we did watch our child closely near the stairs.
3. Beds are pretty high up. This can be a good thing - thick mattresses. We had to climb up into the king bed, I felt like a little kid having to climb up into the bed. My son couldn't get into our bed, he could get into the other bed by using the night table shelf for a boost. Plenty of pillows are provided, which made me happy - I was able to create a nest of pillows around my child to prevent falling out of bed during the night.
4. Second bedroom doesn't have curtains but is somewhat private due to facing backyard. Front door doesn't have curtains, so don't walk out of bathroom naked.
Thanks for a great stay, Ashley!
