Walter’s place is great and he is a terrific host. It’s quiet, in the country, with awesome Mountain View’s. Beautiful horses right outside your window, best mattress I’ve slept on in a long time, and a cozy living room and kitchen. Place has a ton of history and is very interesting. Definitely would stay again.

The location was great and Walter and his wife were great hosts. I definitely recommend this place! It is close to many places to go grab food etc.

We loved staying at Walter's. Waking up to see chickens in the yard, horses in the pasture, and mountains in the distance all from the comfort of the porch swing was a wonderful way to start the day. The porch swing was also lovely after an incredibly long day catering my friend's wedding. Restaurants and all the amenities were only a short drive away. We only wish that we had time for a fire. The cottage was very cozy, and the gas fireplace kept it toasty. If in the area again we would definitely stay here. Walter was wonderful and very quick to respond. A pleasure to deal with. We would definitely recommend staying here while visiting JMU, Massanutten, or the Shenandoah National Forest, as they are all close.

This is a good place for a getaway with the family. We were happy to catch the pumpkin patch: a lot of fun for my 2-year-old toddler: rides on tractor, slide, feeding of goats, horses. Walter gave her little pumpkin as a present, she was really happy! Very attentive hosts to their guests, quick communication. Great location. House inside has everything you need and is comfortable, with gas fireplace. For outside lovers, you can make firewood on the front porch, sit on the swing and enjoy mountains view (while still see the farm life :) ).

The place was amazing. I really enjoyed sitting on the porch swing in the quiet mornings listening to the birds sing while taking in views of the mountains. There's a fire pit, grill & kitchen with everything you need. Minutes to Shenandoah's Skyline Drive & waterfall trails. My kids were allowed to pet the horses & goats adjacent to the house. Will be coming back for sure!

My family and I had a great weekend stay! We fed the goats and woke up to roosters! Secluded and quiet. Walter was a great host! Short trip to Harrisonburg and about a 45 minute drive to many popular Shenandoah trail heads. An experience our son won't forget!

We enjoyed some aspects of our stay. The farm animals and mountains were nice to see and we enjoyed hiking in the Shenandoahs, visiting Harrisonburg, despite being given no information by our host about the area, local attractions, restaurants, etc. The house itself had no dining area, few dishes, and was dusty. We expected some bugs since we were on a farm, but every day removed spiders, stink bugs, and crickets, etc. The wifi only worked outside the house. We've had many country house stays, and this one was overpriced.
