Welcome to my NYC gem! Here you will have a private room with a right next-door bathroom, extra comfy beds, ground level spotless clean apartment: few steps from subway and close to Central Park. Plenty of lounge space, and equipped kitchen to enjoy.
-You will only share the apartment with me, which makes your stay even more private. No other tourists, only you/your group. Your room and mine are at separate levels in the apartment - another reason for an even more private stay while in NYC.
-There is 500mb broadband internet and a nice lounge area where you can have your breakfast before the long day ahead of you.
-The apartment is GROUND LEVEL, so say bye bye to New York City stairs - subways are enough. One block away there is a supermarket where you can buy groceries, and save eating at home rather than in restaurants.
-The 6 train station (which service the whole east side of manhattan) is also on the same block of the apartment and will take to the museum mile in 7 minutes, central park in 10 minutes (if you want to enter the park by 59th st entrance - otherwise you can just walk there from here), Grand Central/42nd st in 13 minutes, Empire State Building in 15, Soho in 17 minutes, and financial district/Brooklyn bridge in a little over 18 minutes.
-115th street is a really quiet street and your room is in the opposite side of the street, which makes it even more quiet and relaxing.
-Safety: there is also a school right in front of the building which makes for lots of police in the street, hence a REALLY SAFE neighborhood.
-East Harlem is a really convenient, safe, and of easy access in manhattan. Still with a reasonable price tag.
1- Please read carefully this page, because most of what you need to know is here. If you understand it well, I guarantee you will have a great experience. If you need to find accommodation for a fourth guest, please send me a message.
2- AirBnb calendar is really accurate, which means that when you do a search and my room appears for you as a booking option, then I DO HAVE those dates available.
3- I recommend using maps engines online (which works PERFECTLY in NYC) to discover the area, distance and time to destination, and maybe using the apps while you stay in NYC to navigate from points A to B - those are great tools.
Bank, supermarket, transportation -subways and buses, drugstore, fast food restaurants and even a gym (NYSC at 115th & 5th) if not in the same block, it is one or two blocks away. 116th st is a market hub in this area.
Subway 6 green line on the same block and will connect you to the whole east side of the island- from 125th st to Brooklyn Bridge.
The 2, 3 red line is four blocks away and will connect you to the west side of manhattan.
Worried about dirty laundry? There is 24h family laundromat 10 step away (right next door)!
You will have access to your private room, kitchen/lounge area, and bathroom, which is right by your room (which you will share with me only - and yes, I am super clean :) as you can see on my review stars!
Interaction with guests
We speak: English, Spanish, Russian, and Portuguese :)
I do have a very busy life as a pro-med student, jobs, volunteering and school, but as time permit I will be more than happy to give you some hints or maybe sharing a couple beers or a bottle of wine. If you need something, please ask me, I am sure I will find a way to help you out. Need a printer or a computer? We got it.
-Please, MAKE SURE YOU READ AND UNDERSTAND THE DESCRIPTIONS (ROOM AND LOCATION) OF OUR LISTING. It is paramount that you know how your room will look like, and where our my place located within Manhattan, and know that East Harlem is a very diverse and multicultural place. These pieces of information will guarantee you will have the best time possible while discovering NYC. After three years as a host, I noticed the only unhappy guests are the ones WHO DID NOT READ, AND UNDERSTAND the accommodations they were booking. My goal is for you to find just the best room that meets your necessities and comfort standards :) If you are looking for a 3 or 4 star hotel stay in NYC, I am afraid our room is not for you.
-Spend some quality time reading my reviews. They offer you an unbiased look of our listing!
-Be mindful that although you have a nice private room for you, you will be sharing the apartment with me and my partner, who live in this very busy city. So, please be mindful of cleanliness and organization throughout the space.
-I am more than happy to provide you with towels and bed linen when you arrive, and we will also replace them in case of long period stays.
-Remember this is a shared apartment - not a hotel room :) It would be awesome if you leave the area just the way you found it.
I am originally from Brazil, and been living in the States since 2007. Passionate for wine and food, I have always been in the restaurant business in the States, while working towards my Medical Laboratory Science degree at Hunter College NYC. I work a lot, but when in the house I am always doing improvements, and building stuff. When out, I am a big fan of NYC night life.
