Welcome to Casa Kato. My name is Jasmine and I have recently finished building the house so you are some of my first guests and everything in here is brand new! It’s been a labour of love and I hope you enjoy staying here as much as I do. My wish is to some day live here full time but while I still need to work in London, I am happy to share it with people who have an inclination to travel and a love for new experiences.
Make yourselves at home and enjoy the beautiful surroundings!

Very nice place in Grenada. It's quiet and your are only at 5 min walk of downtown. Our host was really nice, he helped us with our transportation for another place to his with a good price! I recommend this beautiful and relaxing oasis of peace! Fred

This is a beautiful home in a good, walkable location. The bedrooms are separate and private, and the downstairs open-air living space with pool is gorgeous. I am only giving this property three stars because of an unfortunate incident, and the host's handling of it. We are four women friends traveling together. One night we came home from dinner around 9:00 pm. My friend went to use the downstairs bathroom and the door was locked from the inside. Out of instinct, we knocked on it and a man's voice answered, "Hola!" We were obviously very disturbed by this. That bathroom opens on one side into the house we were renting, and has another door that connects to this creepy laundry/maintenance area of the hotel next door and the quarters of the host. It was extremely disturbing to have an unknown man in our bathroom and potentially accessing other parts of our house. We contacted Erick (the host) to tell him what had happened and he said there were no men at the hotel besides the security guard, who would not have used our bathroom. (He had no explanation for the door being locked from the inside, or for the man's voice who answered us when we knocked.) Basically, he said "I'm sorry but this really didn't happen." Very invalidating. THEN, the next morning around 8:45 we were getting ready to leave and I was using the same downstairs bathroom. A man literally walked in on me via the hotel door while I was on the toilet! So much for no men being in the hotel or accessing our bathroom. This is a lovely property, and if it hadn't been for these issues and the invalidation of the host I would highly recommend it. I think this problem could be easily resolved by installing a bolt on this bathroom door so guests could lock it from their side and no one from the hotel could come in. This would mean the maid and maintenance people have to enter the house via the front door, but it seems worth the trouble in order for guests to feel safe and secure.

Response from Erick:
Hi Jo! Sorry for you experience and again I apologize! The maintenance / security of our hotel used the toilet not knowing guests were staying! At the time he was embarrassed to admit it. We have immediately taken measures to prevent this in the future by adding another lock to the door and by instructing our staff! I would like to assure you and any future guest staying here that this house and the adjacent hotel and my house are all a 100% safe! We have at all times 24-hour reception and security. More than 7 years operating here and we have never had any single incident! Thank you for your suggestion to add another lock on the door to make sure misunderstandings as this won't happen in the future. Thank you for everything and welcome back anytime! All the best, Erick

The place was exactly as described if not better. The rooms were well cooled w the AC. The pool was the perfect temperature. Cooking in the outside kitchen was fantastic and hanging in the home was just the best. Comfy beds. $1 taxi to town. Truly amazing stay. Also Erick was amazing and communicative and made the entire process of booking and checking in a breeze.

We absolutely loved staying here. The house was in immaculate condition, and it was very impressive. It's located about 8-10 min walk from the central park, and there is a little corner store very close to house where you can get drinks and snacks if you need. Erick was an awesome host. He greeted us when we arrived and was very friendly. He even invited us to his bar for a drink which was a cool spot. Would gladly stay here again!

Casa Kato is an awesome, inspiring place to stay. When you walk, in you realise how big, spacious and serene it is, it really does combine the best aspects of a classic colonial house (open plan outdoor living areas), with the benefits of a modern style. The bedrooms are cool, both have new air-con units and king size beds, the balcony over the pool is inspiring to wake up to, the garden and pool area are beautiful and relaxing, the kitchen is all new (not that i had time to use it much) and the location is great - it's close enough to the main square, and the Calzada (restaurant street/area) so you can get to everything easy enough. Eric was a great host, he met us on time and showed us around, and even invited us out to his bar/club for some fun (en cuentros). I looked at lots of places to stay in Granada, but i chose here because it's easily the most stylish, modern and spacious place in town.
