This is a great lodge off the grid. If you want internet and phone service this is not the best place to stay. It is a beautiful lodge with lots of sleeping space, great cooking and eating areas. The lodge had plenty of board games and ping pong to help keep you entertained. We loved staying there. It is a bit out of the way if you are planning to spend most of your time in Moab or farther North. This would be a great place to stay for a family reunion where you are planning to do things closer to the lodge. The roads to the lodge are dirt and gravel so it is better to have an SUV type vehicle to get there.

A fantastic cabin in a beautiful rural setting. We were looking for someplace a little off the beaten path and this place was perfect. Star gazing and setting by a fire in the evening. Enjoying a good book and a stunning mountain view during the day. I read other reviews about a lack of cell service and was rather looking forward to a respite from technology however my phone worked just fine. Perhaps those other people just need to change providers. This place was a perfect base camp for exploring the area.

Beautiful location and a great host. All of our needs were met. We ran into the owner a couple times and every interaction was pleasant and helpful. Would definitely recommend staying here.

My wife and I were looking for something off the beaten path and this was exactly what we wanted. We were able to watch the Peresid meteor shower, get away from our phones, etc. The downside is it really was a bit more off the path that we expected - wasn't a problem at all for us on this trip but it's worth noting for others. It was a solid 45mins outside of Moab and the dirt/gravel roads were a bit of a concern for our car when there was a bad rain storm in the area.

We loved our stay at the Family Cabin! The time there captured the spirit of adventure with close friends. I would absolutely recommend staying there, but be sure to have your 'off the grid' wits about you and too you will enjoy a vacation you won't soon forget! Jerry and the other people on the ranch were very friendly and respectful of our privicy. Between gas lanterns, a giant fire pit, astonishing views and stars you can practically touch, the lodge made for a truly one-of-a-kind expierence!

In the spirit of HGTV’s Fixer Upper, we are calling this Airbnb property The House of Cards. It is a lovely home in a lovely spot on Earth, with lovely views. It's very spacious and it even comes with three lovely cats and a dog, all agreeably friendly. It also comes with a claim of wifi, but it doesn’t actually have it, according to Jerry, the host. That’s normally not a deal breaker; just use your personal electronic device as a hotspot. Except that the house is located 45 minutes from cell service. So, we had to make more than a hour round trip back into Moab. We asked him in the morning, he gave us the ‘it doesn’t have wifi’ answer in the evening. Five of the seven adults in our group have modern, 2017 jobs that require periodic online contact (plus we like to surf modern websites, like Airbnb), so we specified wifi on our list of must-have amenities when searching for a rental. Had we known this was false advertising, we would have reserved elsewhere. There’s more. Upon arrival, we had to clean the refrigerator, the tub, and some of the pans before enjoying the home. We are happy to say this is a first with Airbnb, but it was still annoying. Also, the house is 100% solar. If you run out of that at night, as we did, there are no more lights, no more refrigerator, and no coffee in the morning, just be aware. Then, there is the matter of having an actual emergency, which we didn’t have, thank goodness. The closest hospital is in Moab, and with no wifi, no cell service, and no backup landline, 911 is not an option; whoever happens to require medical attention will have to make it through the half hour plus car ride (a good portion of it on a bumpy dirt road) without any hope of advanced life support intercept along the way. Unless your name is Jeremiah Johnson, Rooster Cogburn, or Johnboy, we don’t recommend this property.

We are so sorry for this. We have checked again and this cabin is marked as NO WIFI. I am not sure what provided the idea that there is wifi here. If you can see it, please let me know. The cabin is so amazing and off the grid which is what people love about it!
