A warm host and a wonderful location near Marin Drive. The BnB is in a residential street. If it is hard for you to reach there, the host will help you.

Worth every penny! Despite it being my first time in India, Mahesh made me feel right at home. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and a perfect place to rest whether you are living in Mumbai or simply passing through. The location is a 2 minute walk to the train station, grocery store, many wonderful restaurants, and Marine Drive if you need some fresh ocean air. Highly recommended.

Mahesh ensured that I got the place right and was constantly in touch guiding me through the booking process and ensuring that I booked the listing of my choice. He was patiently explained how things work - from the switches to locking the door and even providing for places around Mumbai. I got exactly what was promised in the listing and it was Mahesh's hospitality that made this go beyond the transactional level. He engages in a great conversation and listening to his travels were a delight. (Look forward to see you again Mahesh. Thank you for making the stay just like at home)

it was wonderful with Mr. Mehta. Once my booking was confirmed, Mr. Mehta and I were in regular touch regarding my stay. On arrival, I was welcomed with Tea and biscuits and was shown the room. During my stay I was also treated to home made delicacies! I was given the key to the apartment and was informed about all the do's and don'ts. I was given the liberty of coming and coming out at my convenience. Mr and Mrs Mehta are very warm hosts and I would certainly recommend their place to everyone.

Great location for South Mumbai and a home from home given that I was working for an NGO. My room was a cool, clean and comfortable retreat from work and the busy city and I had a great room mate nearby. All guests were staying longer term and it made for a house party feel which was quite fun. Mahesh was a very helpful informative host and we had some great early morning walks to Malabar Hill, Hanging Gardens etc....I kept fit (he is a competitive walker!) and saw lots and learned much about local culture during a number of external jaunts. Jyotsna, his wife ensured that I got to taste a range of home made Gujarati delicacies and I have been trialling in my own kitchen since I returned (with varying degrees of success). A great stay for those that want a little more that being a tourist.

Mahesh and Jyotsna were wonderful hosts. The room is very comfortable and clean, and the appartment feels like a home. I really enjoyed talking to Mahesh, and his info on the area and on restaurants was most helpfull. I am looking forward to staying there again.

I stayed with Mahesh and his wife Jyotsna for about a month, and I’d highly recommend the experience, provided it’s within your budget. As soon as I arrived - at 6:15 in the morning! - I was welcomed with chai and toast, and then Mahesh took me on a long morning walk of the neighborhood along Marine Drive. The next morning, again after chai, we went on a 13km walk so he could show me the Hanging Gardens in Malabar Hill. Our conversation ranged from straightforward sightseeing information to broader discussions about Indian religion, food, culture, and politics. Mahesh was a delight to speak with, and he is eager to share his perspective on Mumbai and India. This hospitality extended throughout my stay. Mahesh and Jyotsna are wonderful hosts, doing an excellent job balancing a home-stay experience while respecting your privacy and independence. For instance during my first week I got struck with a case of “Delhi Belly." Mahesh and Jyotsna checked in regularly to make sure I was OK, and even prepared kitchardi (a common food for upset stomachs) for me so I could have something to eat. It was a relief to know I had people concerned for my welfare while traveling solo in a new city. At the same time, when I was better acclimated (and feeling better!), Mahesh was happy to give me space, occasionally checking in to make sure I was enjoying my stay and if there was anything I might need from him. The neighborhood is excellent - steps away from Churchgate (the southernmost Mumbai train station) and within easy walking distance of the attractions in Colaba and Fort. While in the middle of a bustling neighborhood, the street itself is leafy and quiet. The room I stayed in (the economy room) is simple but comfortable. The A/C worked well, though I was often content just going to sleep with the fan at night, even in the summer. The only thing that I’d mention with reservation is the cost - the neighborhood is top notch, but even so the prices (for room and board, but also for incidentals like laundry, etc.) are on the steep side. If you can manage the cost, however, I’d recommend. The combination of hospitality and location are tough to beat; I had an amazing experience and also made new friends with whom I hope to stay in touch.

My wife and I live in the same apartment. While she is a homemaker, I am a Chartered Accountant & Company Secretary turned businessman, now in complete retirement. I now keep myself fully busy in reading, seeing movies, theater, arts and cultural performances, keeping fit by walking, swimming, cycling and trekking, traveling all over the world and working in the area of spirituality and social causes.
We love travelling in India and overseas having travelled extensively to UK, Europe, China, South East Asia, Japan, Western Africa, Persian Gulf and frequently visiting USA and Australia in the past few years to be with our grand-children, where our children are settled.
Both of us enjoy meeting and hosting people, specifically students and young interns for whom we become mentors. We cherish maintaining relationships.

Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India has classified my two homestay rooms as “Incredible India Bed & Breakfast Establishment”.

Specific Advantage of the staying at my place:
As many of my guests have described the advantage of staying at my place, it is “location, location, location”. If you are a person who likes walking/running for health and exploring the city, with a least possible struggle, by way of walk, mine is the place to stay. Marine Drive is the best place for walking/running and it is just across the road. I daily walk an 8 KM round. All the sight-seeing places of South Mumbai are within 5 to 20 minutes’ walk from my place. Churchgate part of the Marine Drive where we live, is just adjacent to Nariman Point, Fort-Flora Fountain-Kalaghoda-Ballard Pier and Crawford Market-CST Station. If you enjoy Cricket, Wankhede and Brabourne Stadiums are on either side of the apartment just 3/4 minutes’ walk. For a Foodie, there can’t be a place better, as there are 100s of Restaurants serving all possible cuisines.
