Welcome to my quirky two bed quarryman's terraced cottage. Nestled upon the mountainside high above the town of Bethesda it benefits from exceptionally beautiful views across the valley towards Penrhyn Quarries and the famous Zip World. Take a step into the garden where, on a clear day, you'll see the spectacular Carneddau mountain range. Paths into the mountains can be walked to within a few minutes from the front door.
Inside the house you'll find plenty of original features including a small wood burning fireplace and lots of quirky cottage character. The main feature of the lounge is the wood burning stove set upon old slate from the quarry nearby. The open plan lounge-kitchen comprises of a fully equipped kitchen with a 4 ring gas hob, gas oven and a microwave. There is a fridge freezer in the utility room along with a dishwasher and sink.
Recently modernised and brought into the 21st century, this cottage features all mod cons; electrical appliances, gas central heating, double glazing, and unlike many houses in the area it is open plan, light, warm & dry!
Upstairs there is a modern shower room with toilet and sink. Two bedrooms comprising of a spacious master bedroom with a double bed, and a small room with a single bed. There is a folding bed, and an inflated single mattress for extra guests (max 4 guests in this listing). However, for larger groups, I'm happy for more guests to stay if they're willing to bring their own inflatable mattresses or camp beds for the living-room floor.
The garden contains a large shed which can be used for bikes and/or outdoor equipment. Guests will find a secret garden towards the far end where bench seats and a stone stand make for an ideal BBQ area. It's a really pretty spot with picturesque views of the woods and mountains.
There is easy access to the house with a keysafe to the left of the front door. As the house is unoccupied it is uncluttered and guests will enjoy complete privacy.
Interaction with guests
I endeavour to reply to calls, texts, answerphone call enquiries and emails as soon as possible. The neighbourhood is quiet and peaceful so I expect guests to respect the neighbours privacy and keep noise to a minimum. Please take care to park sensible without obstructing other vehicles.
Other things to note
As the cottage is situated in Snowdonia, the mountains are close to the sea so the weather here has its own microclimate. Guests are advised to come prepared for every/any weather condition (sometimes all weather conditions in one day!)
Car parking can more often than not be found along the top road before the Goronwy street. It is advised that if you intend to park on the steep hill (Goronwy street) then please reverse down so as to avoid burn out (URL HIDDEN) a steep street. Also, it's worth noting that during evenings, weekends or holiday periods the parking spaces on the old narrow streets quickly fill up. Therefore, please anticipate this if possible, and always be prepared for a short walk to the house.
The only rule is to leave the house in the same condition as found. Clean and tidy
