A modern provincial living space located in the heart of Coron Town! Studio unit on ground level with three beds, a small front balcony, outdoor kitchen. The location is in a peaceful residential compound within walking distance of the public market and plenty of restaurants, dive shops and tour agencies. We are happy to organize your airport transfers, island hopping tours, meals and motorbike. Compare with our other apartment listing!

The space

This is an interesting 13 sqm space suitable to the curious and adventurous, since you will get first-hand experience on what it’s like to live like a provincial Filipino—yet its kinfolk décor offers a comfortable balance. The unit is a charming studio unit with a small balcony. There is a bunk bed and a single bed to sleep up to 3. To battle the hot hours, there are floor and ceiling fans. The front shaded balcony area is great for lounging, taking naps, and eating your meals. The unit has a mini fridge (it does not have a freezer compartment), kitchen appliances (kettle, toaster, etc.), sink, utensils, table, and shelf space. All cooking happens in a sheltered outdoor kitchen (yep, local living), which is equipped with a gas stove, condiments and utensils. The primary water source is a clean spring well located in the front that is shared with neighbors (yep, local living). The bathroom has a low-lying toilet that is typical of most Filipino homes in the provinces, but water buckets are provided for manually flushing the toilet. There is no WiFi in the unit yet but we can help set you up with your own personal pocket WiFi, if connection at nearby cafés isn’t working. Welcome to Coron!

Guest access

You will have access to your own bathroom. There is a kitchen shared between two apartments. You will be within walking distance of the public market, and plenty of stores, bars, restaurants, tour agencies, and scuba/free dive shops. Gated access limits motorbike entry at night, while landlord makes frequent patrol rounds night and day for added security.

Interaction with guests

Depends on you! It can be minimal or frequent. Our trusty helper, Rocky, helps administer the space and we work at a travel lounge located 100m from the unit. You can drop by any time to meet other travelers, ask questions and plan your trip. A representative will be your local point of contact during your stay.

When you check-in, you will get keys, an introduction tour and an optional orientation of town by motorbike, and information about travel in Northern Palawan.

We enjoy dining together with other travelers and you are welcome to join us for home-cooked dinners for an additional cost, with advance notice to Rocky.

Other things to note

Coron, considered among the last frontiers in the Philippines, is in the beginnings of a development boom. Much of Palawan (Coron is located in the very north) is considered undeveloped compared to other parts of the Philippines, which is why provincial style living is still dominant even in hub towns. These are indeed interesting times. If you are keen to see and experience island authenticity before more changes come, the time is now!
