Come back to old Cape Cod! This is the "early riser room," one of two upstairs rooms with shared bath in my rustic, late-1700s Cape house. If you love antique houses, you'll be charmed. Quiet, private, and surrounded by conservation land, but near shopping and restaurants--not to mention a quick drive or bike ride to beautiful West Dennis Beach. If you bring your dog, I have lots of tips for places to walk and swim.

The space

Your room is up a steep set of stairs in my beautiful antique Cape. The house dates from the late 1700s, so it's quaint and quirky. The room can get hot in the summer, but I have fans and the room gets ocean breezes.

The bathroom is directly outside the bedroom door and is shared with any guests in the other bedroom.

Guest access

You can use any part of the house except my bedroom (downstairs). Feel free to cook vegetarian in the kitchen (help yourself to staples, cooking oil, etc.), use the washer and drier, and relax on the outside patio.

Interaction with guests

I'm usually around to give you tips, but will respect your privacy.

Marsha was an amazing host. We felt very welcomed at her place. It was clean and it wasn`t too far from the beach. On a rainy sunday she even left us some ingredients so we could have a pancake breakfast. We had a lovely time and would stay at her place again.

Marsha was so welcoming during my stay. I would happily come back. Her home is very clean and quiet. If you are familiar with the area and the high prices for hotels, her home is a wonderful alternative. Great for folks who are easy going and looking for a comfortable, charming environment.

This Airbnb is a true Cape Cod experience. I went to the Cape often as a child and this was the first time in 17 years to return and everything about this Airbnb from the 18th century house, to Marsha herself made for a great Cape Cod experience. Check-in was easy, communication was great, and the value for money, especially for Cape Cod, is unprecedented in my 15+ Airbnb stays. The location is central and great for seeing Dennis and Chatham, and only an hour to Provincetown. The room is large and had plenty of space for two humans and two dogs! There is a fenced yard where Fuzzy (Martha's friendly dog) resides good for your own dog to go off leash in. There is an outdoor clothes line (loved it). The enclosed open air porch is very comfortable for chatting and lounging. The kitchen is very well equipped and easy to use (though no oven usage possible). The shower has a hose unit. The staircase truly is before codes were around and steep, but I did not have much trouble getting a heavy suitcase and many other bags up and down it. Overall this was a fantastic Airbnb experience for anyone wanting to still experience true Cape Cod.
