I stayed at this apartment for 1 month. The location is excellent, but the condition and the view are terrible. The description of the apartment is deceiving: the so called “view of the polo grounds” is actually a huge brick building in construction with the noise to accompany it…

Dear Lady, First I would like to say I am sorry your vacations didn’t go as planned. I am sorry you feel like you do, and rest assure that my intentions never were to aggravate you situation more than it was already but by the contrary, I always try my best to be an excellent host. To prove this to you please feel free to read my previous reviews. Let me respond to each ones of your comments: 1. The one thing you were right about, it the view. We use to have a uninterrupted view of the polo fields until the neighbour decided to start building, project that has been stopped by the municipality because of its lack of permits. I had already removed the pictures and didn’t realise the one line in the description that talked about it. I have now removed that from the description as well. But let me tell you that the apartment is still located in a prestige area, at the end of a quiet boulevard next to the polo fields and it offers the best of both worlds: quiet evenings as well as the commodity of being in a central area close to bars, pubs, restaurants and entertainment. I am sure you had the please to enjoy this luxury that location key offers. 2. In regards to your other review points, I believe you haven’t given me the opportunity to remediate them. You sent me a message about the neighbour being noisy. This neighbour was polishing his floors during the day, at a appropriate time to do so, as per our strata and municipal rules. But you didn’t mention that the water was too cold. The water issue is not an issue at all, me or my property manager could have gone and increased the temperature of the water in an instant. It only involves turing a dial in your instant hot water heater located in the kitchen. But you chose to complain about the issues we have no control over. 3. You also complained about the lack or natural light in the apartment. To be honest you are my first guest that complains about this. The apartment has a 4 meter window on a 5th floor that allows the natural light to come in. Yes, you are in a downtown area, and there are buildings outside, that shouldn’t be a surprise to you, but that doesn't mean it lacks natural light. Maybe a cloudy day in the winter, where days are shorter it's not as bright as a blue bird summer day when it’s daylight till 10 pm. 4. Going back to the noise issue, this time you complained about nearby buildings under construction, which are currently suspended by the local government, so i don’t understand how can you here them since there no workers at the time. Maybe what you heard was one of my neighbours doing maintenance in his apartment, but again, it was during legal hours and following strata rules and he was braking no laws. 5. In regards to your comment of the apartment being “old”, let me tell you that 3 years ago I replaced all light fixtures, new led lights, kitchen items, bed, sheets (that are replaced as needed), etc. The bar is a 20 year old custom made pine wood and iron piece. The appliances are all in working order and have been replaced, as needed when guests let us know they are not working. I am surprised at your complaint since I have hand more than positive comments about how well equipped my unit is. Again, please take the time to read my previous reviews. 6. The washer does work, otherwise you should have let me know while you were enjoying your 30 day stay and not in a review after you leave. Again, you chose to complain about things out of our control and not things we could have remedied. But this wasn’t the case for the washer cause it was in fact working. I make a point to recommend our guests to send their laundry to be washer, dried and ironed in the close by full service laundry mat because I don’t have a dryer in the apartment. It is not a big apartment and hanging and ironing your laundry can be a bit of a nuisance so I make that recommendation. 7. During your check in, I showed you a small imperfection on the floor. An imperfection that our previous guest, who had checked out just a couple of days before you checked in, didn’t mention. An imperfection that if I don’t show it to you, you would have noticed it, and that didn’t cause any inconvenience. But I chose to be honest. During check in you could have chosen to cancel the reservation if this was going to be impeding your well being or enjoyment of your 30 day stay. During check in I also introduced you to my property manager, Francisco. I also let you know that the housekeeping lady comes once a week, on Wednesdays, but that you could always coordinate to your convenience. You, again, never mentioned this during your stay either. In my records it shows that she went once a week. It would have been an issue to ask her to go upon a short notice request since the lady is in the building on a daily basis. I am confused since in your review you also say that the apartment was very clean. We always welcome your feedback. The property manager is on site daily as well and he can receive feedback and adjust accordingly. We have had guest that have asked us not to send any housekeeping because they were maintaining it clean. 8. Two days before your departure you mentioned that one of two heaters was off. The unit has 2 heaters, they re not old nor small. one of them alone is enough to heat the whole apartment and more. I lived 15 years there and i never even needed to turn both on at the same time. When the property manager went to check the heaters, one of them was off and the other one was on low. He turned the one to high and was unable to turn the other one on. The second time you complained that it was freezing, the property manager and me went to check and we confirmed that it was very hot. I will be installing a thermometer so I can verify the exact temperature in it to avoid future arguments. I believe it must have been 30 degrees C when we check the temperatures. It is the first time we experience this type of complaint. 9. In regards to my personality, its not right for me to comment on. At this point i will allow the reader or traveller to read the comment from other guests and build there own opinions. I have always challenged myself to make my guests feel welcomed and show them I care. I challenge myself to make my guests´ stays memorable and not just a nice stay. I use challenging situations as an opportunity to show care and concern and exceed peoples expectation by going out of my way to solve issues. I am sorry that during your stay communication has been the issue and not from my side but from yours. 10. You accused me and the property manager of verbally attacking you. I have nothing to say to that cause I believe you are not being honest. Anybody that know Francisco, knows he is the calmest individual you have ever met. The day Francisco and I came by to ask you what would the ideal temperature be for you, since we felt the apartment was hot already, you were the one losing your temper. At this point I didn’t take any action of eviction ( contacting airbnb) because there was 12 hours to your check out. In regards to my temper, again, I will allow the readers and traveler to build their own opinion based on all reviews and not only on yours. 11. I never said nobody will believe you, what i said is that i am sorry we both had to experience this. For you and for me. I have been with Airbnb for 3 years and its the first time I have this kind of experience. I always have great pleasure to meet guests and stay in contact with them, I enjoy being courteous, kind and watch them leave with a lounge full an amazing experience. I believe I have been able to accomplish that is many occasions. Again I am sorry your stay didn’t go as planed.
