A beautiful one bedroom self contained apartment. This accommodation is attached to the main residence, but is completely private, with its own entrance, driveway and garden.

The space

Perfect for anyone exploring West Cork. Special interest to nature lovers and bird watchers. The Stables is set on 2 1/2 acres of natural landscape/woodland which was planted to native trees in 2012 as part of the Irish One Million Trees in a Day Project. This land is also part of Irelands 5-year Butterfly Atlas 2021 project, to record the number and types of butterflies on this land over a five year period. Vegetarian/Coeliac friendly.

Guest access

Guests have use of a private entrance, parking area and garden. They can also stroll through the young woodland but we do ask that they stay on the path.

Interaction with guests

We live in the main house and are happy to help in any way we can.

Other things to note

Please note that there is no cooker in The Stables. There is a microwave, toaster and egg boiler. Bread, jam, butter, eggs, ham, cheese, tomatoes, cereals, fruit, yoghurts, milk, orange, biscuits, coffee and tea are provided.

We really enjoyed our stay at Pamela's gorgeous retreat. It is a very new, very nicely done reno of the old stables and is a bright, very comfortable place to stay. You need a car (or bike) to get to the house since it is a ways out of Clonakilty, but is in an idyllic setting with walks straight from the front door. Pamela was a lovely host and provided us with some excellent recommendations of restaurants and other trips in the region. Note there is not a full kitchen, but with the microwave and egg cooker we were able to make full breakfasts. We would definitely stay with Pamela again.

Loved our stay; the garden, that corner window, plenty there for breakfast and were able to take some with us for lunch. Really comfy bed. Great place to switch off.

Response from Pamela:
Hi thanks for that. I didn't realise the soup dishes were missing!! Sorry. I will add some microwave pots. Good idea. I have mentioned in amenities that I don't have a cooker, but provide continental style provisions. Not sure if I want to add one at present. Thanks for feedback. Take care. Pamela

I stayed here with my husband and two very small kids. Although it is a one bed space it was perfect for us. Plenty of space for a travelling cot and a very spacey bathroom and kitchen area. The space is bright, warm and clean. Pamela was an amazing host and had the apartment kitted out with everything we could possibly need. The garden and surrounds are beautiful. Although it was a few minutes drive into the town of Clonakilty, it's beautiful to be on such a little piece of heaven. A perfect place to explore the beauty of West Cork

My wife and I thouroghly enjoyed our accommodations, Clonakilty and especially our hostess Pam who could not have been more welcoming and kind. She thoughtfully provided breakfast goodies and any toiletries we might need to be comfortable when we arrived. The rural setting was quiet and peaceful and only a short ride to lovely Clonakilty. We used the Stable as a base to explore the lovely rural countryside and beautiful seaside towns of nearby Kinsale, Courtmacsherry, Timoleague, Inchdoney, Roscarbery and Owenahincha. We especially enjoyed the visits by her spunky Scottish terriers Pip and Oscar and her beautiful cat Solo. When we return to Ireland we will definitely make it a point to spend time at the Stable and see our new friend Pam!

Pamela has created the perfect place to stay for a relaxing break near Clonakilty and its surrounding coastline. She has thought of everything to create a peaceful and tranquil home from home and was very helpful with advice about the local area
