First of all, every instruction to use the house given to us by Jonathan was clear and without complication! Easy, breezy and wonderful. The house was well prepped with linens and bath towels. Both bathrooms were very clean and had a homey feel to it, which was nice. The whole house was clean. The entrance was well lit at night, so you didn't think of Freddy from Friday the 13th jumping out at you! Rooms were nicely decorated and had air conditioning, thank goodness because it was hot! We will definitely book with Jonathan again, should we need to go there. Very homey and well prepped for visitors!

My family and I were very pleased with the house, the neighborhood and our host. The house is as described and was great for a family. Nothing fancy but clean, cool and quiet. The neighborhood is great and the local beach was great for the kids (just a couple mins walk down the road). Overall, very convenient and very happy with our stay. Nothing but good things to say about Jonathan, our host. He was responsive, flexible on check out time and did whatever was necessary to make sure we enjoyed our stay.

Not a great experience. Not very clean, and found a snake (live) in one of the bedrooms right after checking in. The "air conditioning" was a unit in the middle of the living room that cooled only about 12 square feet. Then, after a used window unit was dropped off on the porch, we ended up having to install ourselves, as the property manager indicated that she would have to see if the neighbor had duct tape (the side panels on the unit were damaged). Really? No hairdryer, coffee maker, or microwave, and no lawn or beach chairs. Given proximity to the beach, at least a couple of beach chairs would have been nice. Not very clean; floor seemed dirty and spiders in every corner. Had read reviews stating the opposite, so maybe a new service is being used? As far as positives, great location near Mashpee Commons, and beds were fine. Other family members stayed nearby, though, and paid less for nicer accommodations. Will not return.

Response from Jonathan:
My first and only non-5-star review. My response here is intended for those with existing reservations and those considering my property for a future reservation: "Not very clean" - I employ a professional cleaning service, and the only other comments relating to the cleanliness of my place have been positive. This comment is perhaps attributable to a particular difference in standards. "found a snake (live)" - Is there a reason you didn't report this to me immediately? The health and safety of my guests is obviously extremely important to me, and the fact that I'm learning about this for the first time in your review, more than a week after your check-out, is at least puzzling, at most suspicious. I have never seen nor heard of any snakes in or around the house. Not sure how else to respond to this claim. "cooled only about 12 square feet" - An area that's 12 square feet can be drawn on the floor as a rectangle that's 3 feet on one side and 4 feet on the other. Consider how small that area is, and I think you'll agree that this claim is incredibly exaggerated. Once again, this is the first time anyone has complained about the AC. I concede that the Cape experienced a heat wave during your stay, which brings me to my next point... "a used window unit was dropped off on the porch" - You forbade anyone from entering the house while you were not present, which is the reason that the unit was left on the porch. It was a used unit because the entire Cape was sold out of window units (recall heat wave). I did find this unit on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN), and paid extra for the seller to deliver it to the house. Really? Yes, this is what it looks like when someone goes out of their way to try to improve a situation. There is no hair dryer. There *is* a coffee maker. There is no microwave. This is fairly clearly indicated in my listing photos. There are no beach chairs. My recommendation to you would be that you inquire about what is and is not included/available with your next vacation rental. My listing is not misleading, but it appears that your expectations were out of line. Finally, I would have been more than happy (eager, in fact) to send in a cleaning crew if you found the place to be anything less than clean when you arrived. To not give me the chance to remedy a situation, and then to burn me for it is, in my opinion, a poor way to conduct yourself.

It is a very nice and quiet Place on Cape Cod. It is outside the very touristic places. The small lake with sandy beach is very nice and warm. Children enjoyed it very much. For any questions Jonathan gives a very quick reply. Thank you Jonathan!

A husband and father of soon to be two! Living in Providence now for almost 6 years, and coming up on 3 years of property management, including a long term apartment rental, short term partial-home rental through airbnb, and (upcoming) a 4-bed vacation home near Mount Snow in Vermont. I take all of these commitments extremely seriously, and strive to create many happy memories and only pleasant experiences for all of my guests.
