Beautiful nineteenth century farmhouse near Lake Huron. Guests have their own private bedrooms and each room has its own separate but private bathroom. ( For groups of 4 see separate listing ROOM 2 ).

The space

Lovingly renovated 1873 yellow brick farmhouse situated on two and a half acres. My property is nestled in peaceful, traditional farmland. Guests can relax in the quiet tranquil garden, reading a book and listening to birds or spend the afternoon at the local beach. The perfect retreat from city life!

Guest access

Guests are welcome to use the BBQ, veranda, outdoor seating area and garden. You can help yourself to pick your own rhubarb, gooseberries, herbs, red currants and whatever else is in season!
Both guest bedrooms have shared access to a kitchenette (fridge, microwave, kettle, dishes, coffee maker) and a sitting room with a view of Lake Huron.

Satellite TV and wifi are available throughout the house.

Interaction with guests

Friendly home environment where guests have their own space to enjoy the beautiful countryside. I live here with my teenage son and we're happy to answer any questions you have, to ensure you have an enjoyable and memorable experience.

We truly enjoyed our stay in the tasteful, warm and welcoming atmosphere of Michael's place. We appreciated his easy hospitality, the recommendations he gave for places to visit in the area, the breakfast items (muffins, croissants) he had ready for us. The bedroom and bathroom are spacious and filled with beautiful furniture. We appreciated the common sitting room for guests, which we had to ourselves since the other room was not occupied. We highly recommend this place to anyone who looks for a quiet (and affordable!!) get away, close to beautiful parts of the province.

We had a very pleasant stay at Michael's place. His place is very clean and cozy, and Micheal himself is very hospitable.

We had the bigger of the 2 rooms that Michael rents out and it was very very nice. Spacious, neat with a good bed. If you like the peacefulness and solitude of the country, this is a fabulous place to stay. The sitting area was lovely with a big tv and comfy couch. The washroom was very nice as well. Michael left us some breakfast munchies which was greatly appreciated. Michael is lovingly renovating his beautiful old farmhouse and doing an amazing job of it. Thanks again for a lovely, albeit short stay. Bo n Bz n Fang

An authentic 19th century farmhouse, tastefully appointed with beautiful furniture. A short distance to the lake and to a provincial park. Michael is a genuinely friendly, engaging host and a source of a wealth of knowledge about the area and its people.

Michaels farmhouse was what we needed for our quiet getaway. The house is lovely, with a private sitting room for guests (if you are more than one guest you share that room and the kitchenette). The location is awesome - wide open fields for star gazing and fresh air intake. Close to the beach, as well as several of Huron county's charming towns - we happened upon a corn fest, fall fair, and a local parade, all within a 15 min drive. Best sunsets in Ontario. Overall great place to land!
