Peaceful hideaway in a leafy neighbourhood of Kassel. The tram brought us easily to our Dokumenta destinations. Host was very welcoming and would go the extra mile in making one feel at home. Her recommendations on travel and local restaurants were very helpful. The accommodation was well fitted out, immaculately clean, cosy and comfortable.

This is an extremely well set up self-contained unit which exceeded our expectations during our visit to Documenta. The whole unit is freshly renovated with a modern and clean bathroom and kitchen. Toiletries were provided along with staple foods and drinks available at cost price/free. Everything was new in the kitchen, great selection of cooking ware, cutlery, crockery etc. We cooked several meals, and a breakfast box was available on request. The bed was quite high to get into and firm, but it was comfortable with super soft European pillows - very cosy! The unit is located a short tram ride from the city amongst a beautiful and peaceful local neighbourhood, bicycles are available for loan. We ate at the local Greek restaurant nearby, and bought our groceries before getting on the tram home each day. Our hosts were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. They even arranged our tram and Documenta tickets. Although we drove from Frankfurt, they pointed out we would have easily been able to arrive via train/public transport from Frankfurt (Alina can help organise train tickets ahead of time). Terrace is LOVELY - perfect spot for a coffee in the morning and some wine and cheese at the end of the day. Can't wait to go back.

I can't recommend this place enough! Great location, great house and great hosts! I went to Kassel for the exhibition Documenta in central Kassel and it was super easy and fast to take a tram directly to the center. There are beautiful fields with horses behind the house more or less and a forest too. A great escape when you have been around people all day in the center of the city. They had thought of everything and gave me maps and had bought tickets (I could buy for the tram and Documenta) and recommendations and also had a selection of snacks and food a saving thing when you arrive tired from traveling. The house was super clean and tidy and quiet so I slept well. You have access to the garden and garden chairs too in front of the house which was nice. I did my own cooking in the little kitchen which have pots and pans and a small fridge etc. which was great. They offered me to borrow their bike and they gave me a ride to the train station. It was clear to me that they had really thought about everything to make my stay as comfortable as possible and so it was. I really appreciated my stay at the house and them as hosts and would highly recommend it to anyone.

The guesthouse was great! I was in town for Documenta and booked Alina's place for several nights. It's a cozy cottage located in the yard behind the house where the family lives. It's in a pleasant, leafy neighborhood, with lots of families, and nice for taking a walk. The place is quiet, comfortable, and very well equipped, in terms of kitchen equipment and household basics. Alina's mother met me when I checked in and very thoughtfully provided fresh bread, fruit, and other groceries each day I was there. One note regarding transportation - this place is in a residential neighborhood a bit outside of the center of the city, so you'll need to take a tram if you want to go to the main part of Kassel. It's about a 10-minute walk to get to the tram stop. The tram takes you right to the center of the city. Alina also provided me with the number for the more reasonably-priced taxi service (some in Kassel are pretty expensive) which I used a few times. I found Alina's cottage to be a very pleasant and relaxing place to stay in Kassel.

Mein Aufenthalt in Kassel wäre nicht der selbe gewesen, wäre ich nicht in dieser wunderschönen kleinen Oase von "Gartenhäuschen" gewesen. Besser hätte es definitiv nicht sein können!!
