Eclectic-chic, vintage, comfortable, 1700 ft², historic apartment in best part of Long Beach - near park, farmer's market, ocean, arts district, vintage movie theater, and numerous local restaurants and lounges.

The space

The home is a vintage styled, completely furnished, one bedroom, ~1700 sqft. apartment. Great for a single person, couple, or even small/medium-sized family traveling to the area for the summer or holidays who want comfortable place to stay in a charming vintage environment. We require a 4 night minimum. During the summer (June 15 - Sept 26) we prefer longer stays (one week or more). Note: this is not a 'party house.'

The first bedroom is ~250 square feet, queen size bed, walk-in closet, and balcony.

The second bedroom is 180 square feet, queen size bed, walk-in closet.

There is a queen-sized blow-up mattress for the living room.

The rest of the apartment is quite huge -- ~1500 square feet. The kitchen has three separate corridors, including a bar station. The dining and living room are incredibly spacious, and the living room has a picture wall-sized window that brings in plenty of natural light. The living/dining/kitchen areas are also separated from the bedroom by a very long hallway, so you can easily isolate the front half (living quarter) from the back-half (sleeping quarter) when you're looking for privacy. For those who appreciate historic buildings, this has all the authentic charm: arched entry ways, small-planked wooden floors, vintage moulding, even a small delivery window for fresh milk!

The apartment is located in one of the most desirable areas of long beach -- right next to the recently rehabbed Bixby Park (farmer's market every Tuesday) and Bluff Park, two blocks from the ocean (free 2xdaily yoga overlooking the ocean), the 4th street arts district (plenty of great bars/eateries, coffee shops, rehabbed buildings, and an art movie theater), Belmont Shore, and is 1.2 miles from downtown and the Pike. Quick access to the 710 (5 min) and 405 freeways (10 min).

If you are after a place close to the beach and shops as well as being roomy Matt' s place is great. It was huge and full of character as well as feeling homely. It has everything you need and Matt and Amber are lovely to deal with :)

Everything about this stay was great. The apartment is lovely, large, beautifully decorated, and super clean. Other than finding the front door, communication was great, instructions were clear, etc.

Loved the place! Very roomy and comfortable, just what we need for our trip to Disneyland. Matt and Amber were accommodating and helped us settle in easily, even leaving out a list of recommended stores, restaurants and bars nearby. It comfortably fit two small families (each with one 3 year old) and was located in a great area of Long Beach, just a short skip from the beach. Parking can be tough on a weekend night, but not impossible with a little patience - then again, where is it not a challenge in LA. We definitely recommend the place for anyone considering Long Beach!

We really had a great stay at Matt's appartment. It's very spacious and comfortable and the internal decoration with lots of wooden furniture and little details, such as the sweet smell of a pot of collected tree resin in the hallway, made us feel at home instantly. On top of that, Matt and his girlfriend were extremely friendly and helpful. Their place is highly recommended and I will definitely stay there again when I visit the area.
