House Las Rosas is situated in the highest part of the small village of El Risco, so some marvellous views of the area can be seen from the house.

The space

The house has two floors with four double bedrooms and two bathrooms on the top floor and a spacious living room/dining room and large, fully-equipped kitchen on the ground floor. By the entrance to the house there is a pleasant terrace next to a small garden. To one side of the house there is a large swimming pool, with a solarium and sun loungers, which is shared between the two houses.

Both the house and the swimming pool area is wonderful and the view from the house is absolutely amazing. As previous comments say the road to El Risco is a narrow mountain road but after a few days you can get used to it that you have the mountain on one side and the ocean 100 meters below you on the other side :) It’s also scenic enough to forget about the inconvenience. However bear in mind that if the weather conditions are not optimal (windy/rainy), it’s possible that they close down the road and then you won’t be able to get out of El Risco at all. Apparently it doesn’t happen too often (1-2 times a year), however it did happen when we were there and we almost missed our flight. All in all, it’s a perfect place to stay if you like remote, beautiful locations and don’t want to spend your holidays in overcrowded touristic areas. We had a blast.

We absolutely loved the house and swimmingpool. and had a great time!! The surroundings are beautiful, and it was lovely to have both an inside and outside kitchen! Only downside to this house is that from Agaete, the last 30 minutes of the drive to El Risco (where the house is) is along a steep and windy mountain road, and the last 100 meters are so steep, narrow and curvy that we got out of the car rather shaky... You have to be a confident driver to reach this house.

The house is lovely and there has been a lot attention of detail with quality of finishing. The view is pretty amazing. You can definitely see a big extended family coming together for an occasion or just to spend time together. The house has lots of layers to it and plenty of place for people to find private space. However bare in mind that you have to drive 13 km on a road winding off the side of a mountain. While we were there, there was a landslide further up which closed the road to the beach and we have gathered this is not unusual. We ended up not staying for the full week as the pool is 2m deep and not viable for a 4 year old learning to swim. And the drive to the house is pretty intense and need some work to make it a bit safer.
