Make sure you have (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN). Aleksandr was a little hard to get a hold of initially, but I did book the place the night prior so bad on me. Once he did answer me he forwarded my phone to Veronica his helper and she was able to reach me and chat with me thru (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN). The room was very clean and very comfortable, however, no AC which can be an issue on the summer. Otherwise my stay was very pleasant :)

Overall the room and appartement were fine. The location is perfect, surrounded by nice restaurants and bars and close to both the beach and the city centre. The appartement is not owned by Aleksandr but by Valeria. A few negative points were the cold shower, messy kitchen and the room could not be locked.

I hope my review helps both the future guest and the hostess: The communication was awful. I booked the room 4 weeks ahead in advance and never reached Aleksandr until I was obliged to call Airbnb and they were able to make contact with him, and then he put me through to Valeria (the real owner, who seems to be really nice and willing, but doesn't speak neither good English nor the local language Spanish, and I'm an Argentinian). We were on an already delayed, red-eye flight and got to the premises at nearly 2 am, and she waited for us (on a Wednesday) - so that's really great. Thanks a million Valeria! But despite my repeated efforts she was unable to tell me the apartment number for which I had to run my hand through the bell panel to enter. Sorry for that. When the tough gets going... She was a tad annoyed (not to say more), but we were all tired. So extra points for Valeria (wouldn't you think?). The place looks really nice, is very clean, she gives you towels and utilities and an extra room for your luggage that you can use as changing room. The room we were in is actually nicer than the pictures show, so maybe he pictures do not reflect the best of it. It has a nice balcony onto the pretty and narrow alley from El Born maze at Barceloneta (which by the way it is A-w-e-some!) The bathroom was extra clean (according to my overly high standards of my girlfriend).and there's a shared living room, if you choose to use it (I didn't find point in it because Barcelona is as good as it gets for your next holidays - but is nice and has plenty of daylight to keep you happy). I didn't use the kitchen not once because we chose to eat all our meals out (including the munches) and so I can't rate it. But to be honest, it looked right and equipped. The only cons about the flat would then be that being 2 flights of stairs from the ground floor and with such narrow alleyways, and since it's a party town there by the sea, it gets loud into the night and if you wish to go to sleep at any hour between 8pm and 8 am cause you had a lot of sun and ocean and salt and stuffed your stomach with delightful tapas, it's going to be the hell to fall asleep if you are anywhere short of heavy-sleeper or not a 3-year-old. But the great news is that you are walking distance from the beach and it will surpass your every expectations as a city!

Staying at Alex' appartment was amazing! The appartment itself, but also the room with the balcony make it perfect. The neighbourhood is also perfect. You'll walk to the beach in 5 minutes, to the center in 10 minutes and there's a busstop or metrostation 5 minute walking away. Alex himself was also a really nice host. I would definitely book again!

Aleksandr non esiste. Casa piena di pattume con frigo sporco. Puzza ovunque. Difficile viverci dentro.
