5 minutes from town, the Coastal Retreat is an eco-luxury hideaway. Large floor to ceiling windows frame serene natural landscapes: Sweeping harbour, mountain and ocean views.
Industrial modern styling and ample indoor outdoor flow. The open plan kitchen, dining and living form the central hub with 2 master bedrooms at either end of the house and twin bedroom with singles that zip together for a third couple or the kids.

The space
Passive solar design keeps the home at a comfortable temperature year round. Ample firewood is provided so lighting the fire in the depth of winter is always an option.
Luxuriously appointed, the style is industrial minimalist. Natural wool and linen textures meet concrete floors and custom birch wood ply kitchen cabinetry.
All linens are included. Expect to walk in the door and feel instantly relaxed.

The location is approximately 5 minutes from the Main Street of Raglan, 12 minutes to Raglan's beaches, 15 minutes from the famous surf points. In the other direction, 10 minutes from Bridal veil falls and 15 minutes to (the lesser known) Ruapuke Beach. The Coastal Retreat sits in the centre of all Raglans best attractions and only 2 hours from Auckland International Airport.

Guest access
There are two locked cupboards in the garage with our personal effects. Otherwise the house is yours to use.

Other things to note
The tap water is from rain, collected in tanks and then filtered. It is delicious and safe for drinking.
A compost bin is provided for your vegetable waste, please empty it in the black garden bin by the greenhouse.
Please help yourselves to herbs and vegetables from the gardens.
Paper waste is burned in the fireplace.
Plastics & glass go in the Green bin at the back door. We empty this weekly at the recycle center. The blue bin is for all other rubbish. This contains blue council bags that go to the end of the street when they are full. Additional blue bags can be purchased at the super market in town for $2.80 each.
It is important you dispose of all household rubbish thoughtfully and adhere to these systems in place.
Thank you in advance for your respect to our environment.
The cat is to control vermin who otherwise have no other natural predators. The cat is formally known as Tahuna.
He will most likely come to you for a warm lap and a snuggle in bed, if he is allowed. Beware of his mood. Like all of us, he prefers to be left alone if sleeping & otherwise treated with love and respect. We would take him with us, but he is rather more comfortable staying here. We will leave plenty of food for him, if you could please give him a little each evening he would greatly appreciate it.
