Sweet and charming space for one or two, in the heart of Live Oak, Santa Cruz. Our home is close to beaches (5 minutes by car) and close to the upper harbor. The Casita is 10 minutes by car to the SC Beach Boardwalk and Capitola by the Sea. Comfy double-sized vintage iron bed, a small separate bathroom and a small but charming outdoor area! This is a totally self-contained space with a private entrance!

The space
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY SO THERE ARE NO SURPRISES!

Approximately 240 square feet and can house one or two guests. It has a *small* separate bathroom with toilet, stall shower and a toilet tank sink. There are pictures of the toilet tank sink in our listing photos and we recommend that you check them out if you have never seen one before!

PLEASE NOTE: The bed is a Full-sized vintage iron bed with iron headboard and footboard. This is noted on the original listing page. Full size mattresses are approximately 52 x 74 inches so it can accommodate guests a little over 6 feet tall. Taller guests should consider this when booking!

PLEASE ALSO NOTE! We have replaced the old on-demand water heater with a new, dedicated on-demand water heater! No more "hot/cold" showers! Perfect temp and pressure for your enjoyment!

Where you’ll be

Santa Cruz, California, United States

Our home is in a neighborhood that has children, dogs/cats and chickens. We have 2 dogs, 1 cat and 3 chickens ourselves - so it is a bit like the country in our back yard. Animal noise is there but not intrusive. Guests are welcome to text us if there are any noise disturbances that we can attend to.

Hi - I'm Maria! I am retired from the University of California (in Santa Cruz) after 29 years as an Academic Advisor. I live with my husband, Geoff, and our younger daughter, Sarah. Our older daughter lives and works in Manhattan. We live in the eastern, unincorporated part of Santa Cruz know as "Live Oak." We are located between the cities of Santa Cruz and Capitola - close to the Upper Harbor, beaches and shopping. In addition to two daughters, we have two dogs, one cat and three chickens! We love animals and you may see the chickens pecking around in the backyard from your room's window or hear the dogs making mischief! My husband and I are musicians who have been performing in different bands over the last three decades! We don't perform as much but we play music every day. When I retired from UCSC, I began making goat-milk soap in beautiful molds and wonderful fragrances. I wholesale my soaps to a few small shops in the area and call my small, cottage business "Goat Girl Goods!" We have worked very hard and put our hearts and souls into creating a warm, clean and safe place for our guests. As hosts, we are welcoming, relaxed and here to make your stay as wonderful as possible. We look forward to meeting you! ~ Maria and Geoff
