Studio apartment with private entrance. Half bath is on first floor, 2 full bathrooms are on the 2nd floor. Full kitchen. Perfect for an extended stay. Fenced in backyard, spacious deck.

The space

My home is within walking distance of the Trailways bus as well as several restaurants, coffee shops, taverns, diners, art galleries, music and wedding venues (Senate Garage, BSP, Keegan Ale, Alley Cat), boutique clothing shops and the historic Senate house. It is also walking distance from Kingston plaza where you'll find Hannaford, Walgreens, etc. The Rondout Waterfront/Strand is also within walking distance. Hutton Brickyards is nearby, and hosts Smorgasberg once a month, as well as outdoor concerts.

Guest access

Guests will have exclusive use of the studio and private entrance. A half bath is up a single flight of stairs and shared bathrooms with showers and bathtub are up a second flight. I am in the process of arranging for a bathroom to be installed on the studio level.

Efficiency. Communication. Location. Affordability. Dog-friendly. These are the top descriptors you'll want to know if you're considering booking Mercedes' place. She was quick with replies. Her home is just several minutes' walk to the center of Kingston. Compared to other AirBnb prices in the area, her place is terrific value that lets you put your funds to fun. And she welcomes doggies that are house-trained - like with our two pups. You'll want to note, there are two flights to climb from your basement room to the full bathroom with the shower, but just one flight up to the half bath. The room is cozy and warm with a range to make tea and coffee too. The bed, while possibly a tad short for people over 5'9 or 5'10, was just long enough for us. A thumbs up and a thank you to Mercedes and her family on this Thanksgiving weekend!

Mercedes is a wonderful, friendly host. The private entrance is a great bonus. We were only there for one night, so we didn't get to use the kitchen, but it would be great for a longer visit. Very convenient location too!

We very much enjoyed our stay in Mercedes' studio apartment. It was clean and inviting and we appreciated having the stove and refrigerator available to prepare meals. The house is just a few blocks from the downtown area, where we spent many hours in the lovely cafe Mercedes recommended, Outdated. We would happily return!

My girlfriend and I enjoyed a nice quiet stay at Mercedes’s home. It’s a beautiful old house well-located for walking into Kingston. For winter travelers: the house is heated from the basement up, which meant our room (located in the basement) was a bit too toasty for our liking. Other than that, it’s a great place to stay and Mercedes was a very nice host.
