Beautiful and secluded studio in the hills of Echo Park.
Our home, located above the historic Fellowship Way Trail, was originally built in the early 1900’s for famous silent film star, Tom Mix. Tucked back in the hills of Echo Park our space feels private and secluded with breathtaking views of the Hollywood Sign, Griffith Observatory, and San Gabriel Mountains. If you're renting a car there is street parking available with no restrictions.
Our small, but private studio offers a sofa bed (full bed, sleeps 2 comfortably), 2 closets, workspace, and shower. No direct kitchen or laundry access, but the house is nearby local cafés and a small mini fridge is provided along with complimentary coffee & tea.
We encourage guests to take advantage of our shared spaces like the patio deck, hammock, and garden (when in season). We recommend reading our House Manual section once booked to get a better lay of the land.
Interaction with guests
We have little interaction with our guests except for the shared outdoor spaces.
Other things to note
Guests are welcome to pick and eat from our vegetable gardens (when in season). We encourage guests to utilize our outdoor space. There is a roku to watch streaming video such as Netflix, Amazon Instant Video or HBO GO. A refrigerator is located in the closet.
We do live on an undeveloped hillside so believe it not, we get some wildlife. We get occasional skunks and raccoons and have spotted coyotes too. Don't be alarmed if you spot some or you hear something outside during the evening.
Lastly, while we do not allow pets in the studio we ourselves own a cat and 2 chickens. For those highly allergic you may want to take this into consideration.
-No smoking indoors.
-Shared spaces can be used until 11 PM on weekdays and 1 AM weekends.
-Do not flush anything other than toilet paper- no wipes, tissues, feminine products, etc.
-Please do not use bedding or blankets outdoors. If you plan on going to the beach or sunbathing outside there is a large beach towel in the beach bag above the mini-fridge. If you need more please ask us.
-We do host our patio for larger parties and special events but ask you to inquire prior to booking for special rates. Anything considered a party without prior knowledge could result in withholding a portion or all of the security deposit.
-Lastly, we inspect and clean the space before every arrival and ask you to let us know if anything is not thoroughly cleaned or working so we can make note of it prior to your check out and not hold you accountable. i.e.; stains, scratches, trash, etc.
-We ask that guests respectfully leave our studio the way they find it, clean and undamaged.
-Leave dirty laundry and linens on bathroom floor.
-Remove all perishable food from mini-fridge.
-Dispose of trash. (Bins are located in front of the house)
-Black Bin - Trash
-Blue bin - Recycling (paper, bottles, plastic)
We have been happily living here in Echo Park for 8 years and love our neighborhood and home. We love food, cocktails, and entertainment. When we go out it's generally on the East Side (Echo Park, Silverlake, Downtown, Eagle Rock, Highland Park) so we are happy to recommend our favorites.
