Thanks Dee....A couple of comments.
The Congress Hotel/Condominium has both private vacation rentals managed independently from the Management Company; and hotel rooms managed by the Hotel Management Company which includes the Reception Desk.
While the Reception Desk will provide the Room Keys to all guests and basic information; they are not responsible for day to day guest needs unless they are staying in a Hotel Management Room that was booked directly with them.
The benefits and cost savings of booking a private vacation rental like the one I offer is that, in general, the Unit is in better condition; and most importantly, it is meaningfully less expensive than a comparable unit offered through the Hotel Management Company....and with full use of the rooftop Pool, which is the only Amenity of the Complex.
With respect to Dee's reservation, unfortunately, the shared Air Conditioning System which is managed for private rentals and hotel guests stopped working during her stay. This problem is not something that any one unit owner or manager can fix. This problem affected everyone and unfortunately, this problem took a couple of days to resolve....Incidentally the damage to the Air Conditioning was a delayed problem following Hurricane Irma; and the Air Conditioner works fine again.
Related to this, I do have a Maintenance Man and an Air Conditioning Technician available every day, but neither I nor other managers or owners is permitted to work on the Building air Conditioner and so this was not the problem.
(In other properties I have, the Air Conditioning is our exclusive responsibility and we maintain and repair our units properly and timely.)
Finally, I was able to move Dee to another apartment I prefer though Air B&B, The Hudson One Bedroom Apartment and her trip worked out fine.
