This is not a perfect, hotel standard flat where everything is neat, but it can be a good choice if you want something personal and would like to live in the home of a translator. The flat is 86 m2 and is situated in the historical center of Riga, with a great view from the balcony. The flat is also bright with windows to both sides. The furniture is used, but if you like to be surrounded by books in different languages, this is the place. The kitchen is quite small, but well equipped.
The place has not had repairs recently, there has been a leak from the attic, so there are some larger or smaller spots in the ceiling in all rooms. If you would like to have the perfectness of a five star hotel, this is not the place for you.
There is one queen size bed for two persons, and a couch with space for two persons. I also have a chair that can be pulled out and used for one person.
The kitchen is not new and stylish and large, but it is quite well equipped. Moreover, you are free to use anything you find of spices, sauces and food, there in addition to what I usually food and drinks I usually leave for my guests. On the kitchen top there are some stains, that cannot be cleaned, so it does not look so clean even though it is cleaned.
The bathroom is large and bright, some lamps in the ceiling is not functioning.
The balcony has a table and two chairs, my favourite spot in the flat. Although would prefer you not to smoke indoor, you are free to do so on the balcony.
You can use the washing machine, I have a big computer screen for work or pleasure, also a printer you are welcome to use. I also have a projector, so you can watch films on the wall.
There are two writing desks - one in the large room and one in the small room.
If you would like to borrow bikes during your stay, I can arrange that if I know it on beforehand.
I will be away myself, because I let in hosts here when I am travelling. It means that there are personal items in the flat. In the fridge and cupboards I keep food products, you are free to use whatever you like of those.
Nearby, there is two nice and alternative bars called Aleponija and Bolderāja, and also several good restaurants within some hundred meters from the flat, like Cafe18, Government, Torrero and Istaba. The neigbourhood is in city centre, many of them Art Nouveau period houses. Also lesser known, but an old worker's district with old wooden houses is 10 minutes walk from the flat.
The flat is 800 meters from the Railway station, the end stop of most city buses is also very close (Abrenes iela).
If you have car, you can park in the street. There are is guarded parking 250 meters from the flat: Lāčplēša iela 57 . Another is in Stabu iela 58, 5minutes away on foot there is a guarded parking place next to Statoil station.
