A traditional Irish cottage right on the seashore, with direct access to a private sandy beach. Sleeping 4 and with pets welcome (pet surcharge applies), this has to be one of the finest locations on the Atlantic coast of Donegal (and/ or Ireland). Inside has a newly renovated interior, turf fire and is snug all year round with central heating. Fall asleep to the sound of the waves, explore a different sandy beach every day of your holiday, walk the coastline looking for mussels and crabs.

The space

The Guardian (newspaper) gave us a rave review (16 07 17) - full version online.

"The next day we awoke to flat calm, sunshine sharp, sprinklings of high cloud. We walked outside to a scene that electrified the senses: the distinctive smell of seaweed drying in the inlet below; a wondrous vista out to a long bay that looked like it was lit from within. The only sound was a distant tractor on the single-track lane. It’s for elemental experiences like these that people venture to this part of Ireland."

The cottage is centrally heated throughout and has a large turf-woodburner (first basket of turf included). Every window (apart from bathroom) has a sea view.

This is a magical little cottage, well designed and thoughtfully renovated, spotlessly clean and wonderfully cosy, remote and tranquil. We loved it. There is a road right outside the door, so dog owners beware that you need to keep an eye - while the site is large the cottage is a few feet from the road on which cars pass infrequently.

We loved everything about the cottage... There was so much thought put into so many original details and it all ties together perfectly and creates such a unique and imaginative space that was just so peaceful and pleasant to be in. Amazing countryside all round and the highlight of our trip was having breakfast on a bench on our private beach that was literally at our doorstep! When booking this place we had no idea what a gem this actually was. We only read about Greg's company and his noble mission in the (extremely helpful and comprehensive) visitiors' guide and it made us appreciate the place even more. It was a real privilege to stay in this place and we would absolutely love to come back some time again.

This is an outstanding property in a superb location, just in front of the sea and the beach. The pictures do not make justice to the extraordinary interior of the cottage. Decorated to a high standard. We really enjoyed our long weekend at Greg's property, our dogs loved running on the beach and dipping into the sea, and after they can enjoy chilling in front of the stove. This is definitely a place for dogs. Greg was in contact we us since we inquired about the property, he was there to meet us in person and have created a comprehensive guide to help the guests with food, local places, pubs, etc. Moreover, we will able to admire his work though the books in the cottage. Definitely we will come back, and also we will visit the other properties. This is a 100% place recommended. Thanks Greg, for your hospitality. My wife had a great birthday.

The perfect cottage in a perfect location, even with typical Donegal weather. Greg has done an amazing job of renovating this place and it was the perfect place for us to stay a few nights while hiking nearby. Warm, cosy and beautifully decorated. Wish we could have stayed for longer!

Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quiet getaway with amazing scenery. Beaches and mountain walks were brilliant (Slieve League is about an hour's drive away). There are two small beaches on your doorstep and Dooey beach is nearby which is also great. Will be back.
