About this listing

Once upon a time this place was a carriage house, residence of a coffin maker, home of an illegitimate prince, and a place for guests long before any hotels were built here. Today it's a family home with rooms available to rent. This room offers a single bed, with shared washroom (main floor), and access to kitchen, dining room and living room. Our home is located right in the middle of beautiful St Andrews, New Brunswick, and you would be within walking distance of all St Andrews has to offer.

The space

This bedroom offers a single size bed, dresser, and closet, with a small chair and large window. The main floor bathroom is yours to use, with sink, toilet and stand up shower (this bathroom is shared space). Hand soap from Bath and Body Works, and Body Soap from The Body Shop are ready in the bathroom (if you forgot your shampoo, tooth brushes or tooth paste, let me know!) Your room will have towels, face cloths and sheets available to you, but we like to conserve energy and water use here, therefore laundry will only be done upon your departure. If you would like a new towel or face cloths, or would like access to the laundry facilities, you may ask. Your room comes equipped with a heat pump/air conditioner, which can be adjusted to your preference with a remote control located in your room.

Our home will be shared by myself, my partner (and at times my parents and other family members) along with any other guests renting a room while you are here. The kitchen, dining room and living room are available to you at all times. We simply ask that you clean up after yourself. We have a dish washer in the kitchen, so no need to do the dishes! Just rinse and place and I'll start the machine after dinner. If you would like to cook, you can go right ahead. There is space for food in our shared fridge. If you like BBQ, you can also use our outdoor barbecue for some fun summer eats!

Our home is equipped with high speed internet, and cable. We also have many board games, a piano, and a record player. We just ask that you treat these amenities with respect, and keep them in the common areas.

Parking at our home is limited. We ask that if you are traveling by car and need a space to park that you let us know in advance so that we can best accommodate you.

St Andrews can often feel like a place out of a fairy tale, and we look forward to being a part of your fairy tale vacation!

Guest access

While staying in our home, guests have access to our Kitchen, Dining Room, Living Room, and (upon request) our laundry room. We have a mini library that you are welcome to enjoy (if you can't finish a book before leaving, we just ask that you leave another book in it's place). Board games and cards are also available if you'd like to enjoy a game night, a piano in the living room along with a record player are also available for your enjoyment.

Interaction with guests

I am almost always available! Myself or a family member of mine will be there for you when you check in, and any time in between. Need recommendations of where to go, or what to see; We've got you covered. Eating out, or planning to cook at the house and need directions to the nearest grocery store; We can steer you in the right direction. Want to chat some night about traveling across Canada, other fun travel destinations, or play a game of cards; We can be there. And we can also leave you to enjoy St Andrews at your own pace. However you would like to enjoy your stay in St Andrews, we can accommodate.

Other things to note

Each morning fresh fruit, tea, coffee and other treats will be available to you. Throughout the day lemon water, and lemonade will also be available.

Staying at Leah's was a wonderful first experience with Air BNB! I stayed in the cozy, comfortable and clean single room for a night on my way to PEI. The house is very close to everything, yet quiet at night. I enjoyed coffee, banana bread and good conversation in the morning. Leah is a welcoming and gracious host. I would definitely stay there again!

Leah and Patrick were so friendly and accommodating! They showed me where everything was and invited me to use the space as my own; I felt so comfortable staying there, and the space is beautiful. So close to everything in town, but still quiet and cozy. I loved my stay with Leah, and would definitely recommend her BnB - especially if you like to play Catan!

Leah was a perfect host. Very quick response time to any communications - be it email, text or phone call. Centrally located heritage home, newly remodelled kitchen, different sized rooms to fit different family needs. Leah was extremely friendly and helpful. Young at heart (and age) but very mature and responsible in her hosting capabilities. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this B&B! I will be sure to contact Leah for my next overnight stay in St Andrews!

Staying at Leah's place was a real treat; wish I could've stayed longer. The facilities were as described. Everything was clean, neat and well presented. The renovation on this old home is still a work in progress but is lovely already, should be a real gem when completed. The neighborhood is residential, quiet and just a few blocks from the center of the town and all it has to offer. I didn't get a chance to meet Leah, but her dad, Dean, filled in and was a great host, very welcoming, helpful and considered. I appreciate the time he took to tell me the history about the old home and to show me all the work they have done and still have planned.

Leah is an all-around outstanding hostess. The room is so sweetly appointed and clean but the entire stay was an experience. She has fresh lemon water available in the dining room for guests, welcomed me with a hand-written note, and was communicative throughout my stay about local activities and how to best utilize everything her home and town had to offer. I hope to return again one day!

I am a young professional with lots of experience traveling both in Canada and around the world. I am currently returning home after a month long trip to Ghana, Africa, and have traveled to Europe numerous times. I typically travel with a friend or family members but have, on occasion, traveled solo. As a past employee at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, I have high standards for customer service and appreciate attention to small details. I love to entertain, play guitar and tell a good story. I am a University graduate of a theatre and film program, and from September to May I live in Toronto studying at George Brown College. I am just as mesmerized by a quaint small town, as I am by fast paced city life.

While hosting in St Andrews I love to give recommendations for the best places to enjoy an afternoon and where the best seafood is! If you choose to visit me by the bay, you may also be welcomed by my partner Patrick (who lives with me at our Airbnb rental) or my parents who live just down the street. We all look forward to welcoming you and helping you enjoy the best that St Andrews has to offer.
