Gallery central house in the absolute Heart of the city! Heart-warming & filled with surprises in every corner:) Located in old neighborhood Cais do Sodré, is 25 minutes away from the beaches, train leaves nextdoor as well as river boats:), 10 minutes from Baixa - Chiado and Rossio.

Highly personalized very sunny artsy house in the absolute center of the center of the city :) Throughout the last years this was the home of a couple of portuguese coreographers/visual and performance artists.

The space

It's an amazing place for you to stay :) It feels very much like home, like if you stayed at your arty cousin's apartment while he's away touring the world :) It is filled with beautiful artworks, personalized furniture and objects, art books. The building is a typical 18th century Lisboa one with a very warm touch (wooden and marble floors, stone door and window frames). All the windows are double-glassed. There are two very cozy rooms, a artsy kitchen/dinning room, with a dinner table, chairs and also some artbooks. There is also a sunny living room whose sofa can be comfortably converted into a couple-sized bed, making it suitable for a third couple or childs. In this living room you also have cable tv and a great view over the historical São Paulo square, a huge VHS collection and artworks. The toilets are also very charming :) the house is just in one-jump-distance from the busy nightlife and from the train that leaves in 25 minutes at the best beaches, but its also feels very good just to hang around the house or prepare a beautiful special meal :)

You have Wireless internet, individual towels, shower soap, a lot of kitchen instruments and a higly personalized handmade (by us :) city-center map with zillions of suggestions :)

We basically focus on giving a very complete and heart-warming check-in moment to the guests, filled with indications and suggestions that adapt to their specific tastes and interests. Jorge the responsible nice guy, who will be welcoming you, will also be very happy to clarify any doubts regarding the city, namely public transport system, supermarkets, etc :)
After that, we leave it up to you to truly and fully enjoy the house and the city :)
We also try to be as flexible as we can be with check-in and check-out times, so as to adapt to every guest's needs :)

Well...basically there isn't a better spot to be located in the city :) Sounds a bit overated, yes, but you are:
-in the city's liveliest street (Rua Nova do Carvalho-the famous Pink Street), with loads of artsy, special, funny and surprising bars, restaurants and people:
-5 minutes slow walk from the city's busiest and richest arts and nigh-life neighborhood, Bairro Alto (also a great place to listen to Fado and taste very good traditional cuisine), and also at the same 5 minute walking distance from downtown (Baixa-Chiado that was totally rebuilt after the 1755 earthquake) and from Bica, another charming neighborhood filled with sightseeing places and delicious little traditional stores. In Bica you can find the old "Elevador da Bica" - the tram that goes up and down the hill, the ride is just 3 minutes better a walk by foot, less expensive and more interesting, you can take nice pictures to the tram.
-You are also literally 3 minutes away from the train (leaving every ten minutes) that takes you to the beach. In the Cascais line, all the stops after Carcavelos are in a different beach. To Carcavelos the train takes 25/27 minutes :) In the end of the line (40 minute away) you find the gorgeous Cascais village, where all the beaches are already ocean water :)
-last but not least you are also 3 minutes away from the boat station where you can take a 1,25 euros ferry that leaves you in the south bank of the Tejo River(12 minutes trip), where you have an amazing view to Lisboa and sidewalk along the river to enjoy day or night-time :).
(-well,actually we could still go on with this list, but we prefer not to bother you with more words here and leave you to ask Jorge for specific questions you might have about the place :)

Yes, well, considering we are in the city's main transport center (Cais do Sodré), there is nowhere more acessible in the city than this area. It is a bus central, a tram stop, a boat station, a beggining of train line (leaving for the Ocean-Cascais), a metro stop (green line), a taxi spot (actually taxis are quite affordable in Lisboa, in comparison to most of Europe's prices - an airport/apartment trip, roughly 25 minutes, would cost you around 15 or 20 euros, depending on being daytime/working day or nightime/weekends).
But honestly, Lisboa is so nice to just walk around, that our main suggestion would be :just walk, find the spots you want to visit and if you get sometimes lost in the city's organic and hilly structure, we're really sure you will have very good unexpected surprises. After all, you will be located at the center of the center and Lisboa (even though its a big city, so you mustn't think you are in the countryside and leave the door unlocked :) is a very safe city day or night-time :) just be aware with pickpockets in public transportations.

Guest access

Interaction with guests

Guests are expected to enjoy the house while maintaining it's good shape! Decorative objects are expected to be found in their original place. In the same way as I strive to receive guests with an orderly lively and harmonious environment, an overall respectful attitude towards the property is expected from them at all times. Guests are expected to observe the city's noise-in-the-house limits: no loud noises after 10 pm (from Sunday to Thursday Night) or after Midnight (Friday and Saturday Night). Smokers are asked to only smoke by the windows.
Having a lot of fun in this very special house and in the busy&charming city center is also a rule!

Other things to note

The building has no elevator, but it's a 3rd floor not too hight. It's in a busy street but the house have double windows! Although the bars are music sound control direct in city hall some nights it happen already music to high. The neighbors has already complaint to competent authorities, who are trying to have the limits of the sound within the rules, applying heavy fines to the bars that do not follow the rules. This to say that you can have some noise during the night...
