About this listing

The Olive Tree is a 19th century cottage hidden away in the centre of the medieval town of Tewkesbury where the rivers Avon and Severn meet ... minutes away from cafes and restaurants ... steeped in history from 7th century with Tewkesbury Abbey being built in the 10th century

The space

My cottage lends itself more easily to adults due to the quirky cottage style....

Guest access

My guests have a private bedroom on the 1st floor adjacent to the bathroom (bath with hand held shower, but no shower facility); the living room is made available for guests exclusive use; the kitchen is available for tea & fresh coffee & biscuits. A light delicious continental breakfast is also provided. Guests are free to use the outside garden areas.

Interaction with guests

I am around and am happy to meet and greet, chat about breakfast preferences, although coffee shops are 3 minutes away by foot!

Other things to note

I have my living space on 2nd floor, separate from the guest area. We share the kitchen and bathroom...
NB: I have a bath with hand shower attachment; I do not have a shower unit.

Evelyn is a great host, always making you feel welcome with a cuppa, you could spend time in the garden or in the lounge as if you were at home. A very clean comfortable and organised home.Wi-fi and hot water aplenty.. Very nice neighbors who have time for you. Convenient for town, the river and supermarket easy walking distance. I doubt you would regret staying at this address. Richy Roberts..

Evelyn has a lovely and charming cottage which was full of character and ideally located in the heart of Tewkesbury. Evelyn herself was a truly remarkable hostess and made the experience very worth while. I will definitely look to stay with her again.

As usual Evelyn makes your stay very comfortable, the house is spotless and retains the cottage feel. There's ample street parking and a system that works quite well which you'll understand once you've stayed there. I am also getting use to a bath again which is very relaxing after work. The lounge and kitchen are at your disposal and are very cosy. You may also get some treats from the biscuit barrel or some chocolate along with a choice of tea coffee and various cereals. Shops ,restaurants and takeaways are very short walking distance from the cottage the same goes for pubs. I had the pleasure of taking dinner in Evelyn's garden one night making use of the table and chairs ,alfresco subway followed by a cuppa. This is a home from home with a very accomdating host. Thanks again Evelyn see you next week. Regards Richard Roberts

This is a lovely cottage with a very friendly and helpful host. Although it is close to the town centre it is in a quiet and secluded area. The accommodation was very comfortable and spotlessly clean - highly recommended.

Evelyn is a fantastic warm and friendly host, very informative helpful. The cottage is immaculately kept and very comfortable. On entering the property you feel very at home and welcome,Evelyn is a very interesting woman and is well travelled. She adores her family and grandchildren which is probably responsible for the traveling she does. She is a wealth of knowledge and happy to share it. The cottage is walking distance from town , local restaurants and pubs but strangely very serine and quiet at night. The lounge is comfortable off the kitchen which is compact and at your disposal. The bed is extremely comfortable and conveniently two steps away from the bathroom. Adequate storage and hanging space is available. This property has been tastefully renovated with many original features retained or restored contributing to the ambience of the house. I enjoyed the welcome I received and look forward to returning next week.
