This is a simple, quiet little apartment in a pleasant neighborhood. The main room has a bed and a table that seats two (or, if pulled out from the wall and stools from the kitchen used, could seat four). There is a kitchen nook with a two-burner electric stove and a small oven, and a full-sized refrigerator. The bathroom has a shower and a one-piece washer/dryer (its settings are in Finnish). There's a bedside lamp and lighting over the sink mirrors in the bathroom. Lots of closet space, both shelving and hanging.
Opening the apartment door lock requires a firm grip. The loft, with its additional sleeping space, as the listing suggests, needs very good agility to access. A couple of times over the course of the week, the elevator was stuck on the 4th floor because someone had failed to fully close its door, which just meant walking to the 4th floor to release it.
There's a pleasant view with trees out the large window to the back. Several very nice tree-filled parks are a short walk away. Buses stop nearby; you can also walk downtown in less than half an hour. Two convenience stores open until 10 or 11 at night are within two or three blocks. A post office is just on the corner. I felt perfectly comfortable walking alone after dark.
Siiri was at work when I arrived, but sent her brother to personally check me in. He tried to help get the wifi working (it didn't, but I'd rented mobile wifi anyway, and Siiri said she'd be getting it fixed after I left), and dashed back right after leaving to bring me extra toilet paper. Siiri was always available and helpful by text message. Checkout was a simple matter of leaving the keys on the table when I left.
Highly recommended for any traveler who's looking for something simple, not fancy, but pleasant, private, and practical.
